Default One Year Later or Alternate Timeline?

I suspect that most of the Losties are still on the island while only a handful of them were "rescued" by the Hanso Foundation or whomever the boat belongs to. Maybe the remaining Losties and Others are now all under the control of a new Dharma initiative that Ben had feared if they ever found the island. Perhaps only Jack, Kate, Claire, Aaron and Desmond were whisked away by helicopter. Desmond could be looking after Claire and Aaron since he is somewhat responsable for what happened to Charlie and he could take Jack to see Ms. Hawking about repairing the timeline.

I believe it was Michael who was in the casket at the funeral parlor since it was in an African American neighborhood and when asked if he was a friend or family Jack responded neither. That fits since Michael betrayed them and perhaps Jack went simply because so few people from the island were back with him in the real world.

'Not their own time' would be a perfectly good reason for Jack to push for them to get back. But that isn't in evidence. But honestly.. if they were going that way why not completely follow through? The ship shows up.. they get rescued off to an airbase... and there waiting is... Christian Shepard. Jack flips out because he knows this isn't the 'real' timeline but by that point they have no way of getting back. So he goes all nuts trying to figure out how to get back.

The open-ended cliffhanger really left a bad taste.

i actually think it is 2 years later....they really emphasised Jacks Krazr phone, which was released in about octoberish 2006, so 2 years after crash!- maybe a year and a half after rescue

yeah the funeral could have been micheal but just because it was african american neighbourhood doesnt make it os. maybe ben was living there under an assumed name and him living in that neighbourhood would be the last place they would look...............read my post in general discussion on the reason why iu think jack wants to go back

I think ppl should stop taking the props so seriously. I know they like to plant stuff everywhere in this show and in fact that is what I love about it. But to zoom in on a screen cap on a prop that was on for half a second may be goin a little far. I mean look how there was the error in Juliette's sister's file ("Male"), just as an example. Yes I know they are very thero, but mistakes happen and also who knows, it may be someone we havent even seen yet (we still got 3 more yrs).

Think these ideas work well with our current Producer "Mosaic" pieces.

Perhaps some twists:
  • Naomi is a scout for some very Bad Dads (Mittlewerk): Ben really serves the psyche-sensing/analyzing/acting Island (Jacob) as the current chosen Oracle, Locke is next Oracle
  • Locke knew Naomi was bad scout from Jacob
  • "Rescue" is ruthless attack by gold/power maniacs as warned by Ben
  • Losties and Others survive attack, link with large, underground Utopia with some joining, some still as Others
  • Others working towards promotion to utopia Native status for greater access to Island's Forbidden Planet-type psyche and related capabilities
  • Island does good for all
  • Clueless Naomi lives, and helps Losties after attack
  • 1-2 years pass with attack, Native linking, discovery/exploration of large underground Utopia
  • A few Losties such as Jack, Kate, and Casket (Michael or Locke or my guess: Ben) choose to be "saved" via Penny and her friends
  • Patchy lives again! (probably Blough and others too)
  • Fast forward 2-3 years: Jack wants back to Utopia to help do good for all; Kate not married, but caring for someone who will "wonder where she is".
Thought it highly significant how most Others don't trust Ben (Richard, Patchy, Juliet), but all trust Jacob (Bonnie, Patchy, Richard, Ben) ... how do they know Jacob so well without his Oracle Ben? Also, Jack's flying "weekly" over the Pacific desperately wanting to crash, i.e., find our Island, which clearly must be shielded. Charlie's musical connection to keypad was not well done/believable ... how can he instantly know what keystrokes match his tune? Still think it odd that the automatic mountaintop broadcast is jammed underwater.

btw, was Jack's stewardess, who boldly gave him the newspaper opened to the emotional Obituary, our Mrs. Hawkings?

Your thoughts?
