Default Looking Glass a portal to many dimensions?

Hi, I'm new to this forum, so forgive me if someone has already thought of this, but I had an idea earlier today:
We've been getting press releases the last couple of weeks saying that at the end of Season 3, the Losties will still be on the island "in a sense". (No, I haven't read the finale spoilers, so I have no idea what that means.)
Well, okay, what if the Looking Glass is a portal of sorts, between the world of the island and, not just the outside world as we know it, but many worlds - many different dimensions?
See, the others could have brought Juliet through this portal (the rough ride they said she'd want to be sedated for) and to the sub (docked in the LG) and then drove her in the sub to the dock near the Barracks. Ben could keep the knowledge of the portal from his people (by bringing them over drugged) and, therefore, could act like the destruction of the sub was indeed the only way off.
Additionally, perhaps the LG is at the compass bearing Ben told Micheal and Walt to take and this is how they got off the island.
So, I'm thinking that at the end of the finale, the Losties will travel through this portal and will arrive, not in our world (dimension), but in a completely different one. They will have escaped the island, but will still be no closer to home. The rest of the series will involve them looking for home (think Lost in Space). This could be why it is called "LOST" in the first place.
And as for how they got to the island dimension in the first place, let's say that Desmond's failure to push the button immediately, opened a whole through which 815 flew into the island world.
I realize this isn't all worked out yet, but what do you think?

Thats a good idea...but how did Naomi get on the island? I think it's just an earthly anomaly and The Looking Glass is the "security room" of the Island by Dharma. I would not doubt it if there were cameras set up across the Island that the losties didn't know about.

You bring up a good point with Naomi - but then again, we really don't know who she is for sure. If we take her at her word, then yes, this whole other dimension idea takes a big hit.
On the other hand, if she is not who she pretends to be (not a big leap of logic considering peoples' track record on the show so far) then a myriad of possibilities still exist. Many of these would surely sink the dimension theory, but others could co-exist with it.
Just off the top of my head - Maybe Naomi is an Other, or is associated with them (perhaps through Widmore Industries?) and the helicopter came from somewhere on the island. Or, perhaps some other "dimensional" occurance - either intentional (maybe Widmore has figured out another way to get to the island, or has another Looking Glass equivalent portal) or accidental allowed her to fly into the island dimension just like the Losties.
If the theory is to hold, then such an accidental occurance must have allowed Desmond in as well. Or, maybe Mr. Widmore (is his name Charles - can't remember) intentionally allowed Desmond into the dimension in order to get rid of him. And maybe Penny found out. After all, she knew to look for any electromagnetic weirdness in searching for Desmond.
Hmm.

Thumbs up HMmmm, Mountain Radio Tower Jammed Underwater - RichPundit

Think this new thread has some great open thinking!

Does it make sense that Dharma first broadcast the "Numbers", then Rosseau her distress message from a mountain top, while the "White Rabbit" station which connects to the outside world thru a submarine, blocks the broadcast from underwater? Seems consistent that above the Island everything is disruptive, but underwater is shielded. Think this is a key "mosaic" puzzle piece that perhaps this thread can solve.

Also perhaps, CIA connected Hanso and associates hooked up with the UN Security Council in response to the Soviet/US Cuban missle crisis and resulting Valenzetti Equation, then the DeGroot's Dharma, with the intention to exploit the Island's special Forbidden Planet-like and other capabilities ... including loooong life!

Perhaps Hanso constructed the White Rabbit unknowingly to Dharma who already received planned Periodic Resupply Drops (PRD), to secretly block the mountain broadcasts and access subs iot take over our Island. Perhaps not Hanso specifically, but a really bad other in his organization, maybe Mittlewerk ... including perhaps Naomi. Still think that the Black Rock's Magnus Hanso and perhaps gold attracted Alvar Hanso via his left behind Manifest, perhaps with cryptic clues.

I'm in ... et tu? Namaste - RichPundit

This would make a lot of sense. Consider that when Juliet was strapped down on a submarine when she first arrived, yet having to take a drug to conceal the true method on how she arrives on the island. Ben also says that the only way on and off the island is that sub...and where do we see has a docking bay for a mini-sub? The Looking Glass.
The island has been refered to as a snow globe on multiple locations, but consider this to add a little bit of fuel to the fire. Remember that movie, the Philadelphia Experiment? What if our island works as sort of real place in a torn piece of the space/time continum? Sort of like a rest stop for the Bermuda Triangle. The access to this place from the outside world would be the Looking Glass, but its entirely possible to stumble onto the island the way ships and planes dissappear in the Bermuda Triangle.

Default Naomi

Naomi's helicopter was heard above around where the looking glass is located, but we never actually SAW the vehicle.

nor did we ever see any wreckage.

Doesn't anyone else think that it's weird? When the plane crashed, stuff was washing on shore. But when her helicopter goes down, we only see a blinking light.

Default The Island is like Hotel California

You can check out any time you like but you can never leave!
Remeber also that the survivors are given "Golden Tickets" that allow them to go anywhere in the "real world". Just like Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory! But the Ticket only worked in Wonka's World! There's more clues we STILL need to put the pieces together. Studying Polar Bears on a tropical island? Walt appearing to Locke at the "age" Locke would expect to see him? Carlton said (in the last podcast") the phrase "THAT monster" as in there is more than one...
This show completely reminds me of Patrick McGoohan's "the prisoner". Smokie is "Rover" and he "kills" anyone who tries to leave. There were also many underground "hatches" in the Prisoner as well.
