BRIGHT Red Flowers when Smokie is testing Losties

I have read posts below which confirm that everybody seems to agree that smokie (or smokies) are shapeshifters and have been taking the form of people and perhaps also animals.

Rousseou called the monster a security system and there is obvious evidence that it has the sensing and analysing capability, e.g. the flashes/staring at julietet, eko and locke etc. I also believe it to be the thing which checks whether or not the people are worthy or not, but this does not matter for the below. What i want to find is similarities between all the different scenes that smokie has appeared in, if we can find patterns it may help us unlock ideas.

Therefore i'm more interested in the scenes when it takes the form of people rather than animals, as it seems the smokie being animals also is still under debate. (do you think that the polar bear that sawyer killed if it was a smokie was pretending to be dead?).

The thing that i am aiming at is that each time it takes a form of a person it seems to be testing the lostie and have certain characteristics. The below are the times when i think it has appeared as a person

Jack: Took the form of his dad, (not sure about this one, i think Jack tried to chase after him but fell over, so maybe still test pending)
Shannon: took the form of Walt, she didn't listen to sayid and chased after him...got shot (failed)
Eko: Took the form of Emi, he did not confess, killed him (failed)
Hurley: Took the form of dave, didnt listen to him to jump off cliff, lived (passed)
Locke: Took the form of Ben at the pillar, wouldnt kill his dad, lived (passed)

Each time the smokie pops up as a person the pupils of the person are huge. in the latest episode when Ben asked him to kill the dad, Ben's pupils got huge. Which is why i thought this could be another test of the smokies. what do you think?

The main thing that i wanted to say though was that in both the tests of Hurley and Eko, which were the most obvious tests, it took place where there were BRIGHT red flowers around. I'm sure they were highlighted because of the events taking place.

Does anyone have any information, for example if they were spotted at other smokie tests or in any other scenes, or if it links to any other theories possibly. what do you think?

Also are there any other times when smokie appeared as a person which i have forgoten?
