Hi I have a theory about the island that may explain a thing or two ( or may not). It is obvious to me that there are a great many biblical references in Lost and a recurring theme with regards to faith. MAybe the island is from God!!! The programme is littered with biblical names ie Adam and Eve, Jacob etc and Kate loves to use the names of saints as her aliases. Jacks dad is called Christian Shepherd -sounds like a priest to me... Perhaps the island is the Biblical garden of Eden and the smoke monster is the original serpent. That would explain why only those who are not flawed are welcomed into the others and those who have done evil are vilified and destroyed by old smokey. The question of who Adam and Eve are would be easliy answered - they are Adam and Eve!! Sometimes the best place to hide something is in plain view. Maybe Jacob is Jacob. Maybe in season four Moses comes along and blows the ending. I also noticed that the symbol on Juliet - sometimes referred to as the Mark of Cain - looks very similar to the symbol of the cruciform sword. Part of the Grail Legend which would explain why people inexplicably come back to life or are healed. Is the island the home of the grail? The elixir of life would certainly explain why no one stays dead for very long. The Four toed statue - if it is the garden of eden and everyone is descended from Adam and Eve that would explain the physical deformity,. We all hear the stories about when cousins marry - there is your four toed problem solved.

The producers promised an anagram in the episode "Not in Portland" that would clarify the identity of "Adam and Eve". From the letters in the backwards message in the Room 23 video, "Only fools are enslaved by time and space", one can make the words "Adam and Eve..." Can someone help work out the rest of the anagram? Exploring Our Matrix

I think the Lost creators just love biblical references and I don't think the story would turn out like that. But, it's a good theory.
