Smokie and the Visions

I dont know if anyone has thought of it, but I have a theory that links Smokie and the visions people have. What if Jack's Dad, Kate's Horse, Dave, and all the other visions the survivors have had are really Smokie? We don't know alot about this thing, and maybe it can shape-shift. Smokie's tried and succeeded in killing many people but maybe it was tired or something of throwing people into trees and stuff. We know that "Dave" nearly killed Hurley, so what if Dave was really Smokie and Smokie was trying to kill Hurley or something? Well, that's it. Give me your thoughts.

Not sure about the other visions.. but Eko's Yemi was clearly established as the Smoke Monster and that the Smoke Monster uses visions to communicate.

I'm with you ... Smokey has many forms that can act including physical (killing), sensing (collecting data), and communicating such as with Juliet flashes and implanting dreams/visions.

And, my guess is that Smokey-like forms are created for various purposes by technology innovated to use the Island's radically unique energy. both independently and by intention - RichPundit

I thought most everyone was already in agreement on this. Darlton said during a season 2 podcast that we had seen the monster again, we just didn't know it. After Eko's death it was pretty well put together that Christian, Dave, the horse, etc were all the monster.

Hexonxonx96706: not sure about your Post.

My guess is that the same ancient/Dharma/+ technology that senses, analyzes, and acts based on human and other psyches generates Smokie, Horse, Christian, Dreams, and other forms ... do you not agree with this? If so, please explain.

Also, my sense is that these forms can also communicate with psyches, even command, such as the Juliet flashes. Tx for sharing your thoughts - RichPundit

I agree with your theory and I've been a firm believer of this... Although I think that the horse and the cat could be from the island since Dharma did experiment on animals before. It's like the Solaris theory, where the characters see significant people from their pasts due to their guilt feelings and demons.

Which leads me to think... Could smokey be connected to the 'box' that Ben talked about??

i never thought about teh box being related to smokie. good thinking... although, smokie doesnt exactly grant wishes (unless Eko wanted to die).

Smokie's a werid being. It killed Eko, so it was able to kill him in whatever way it was (I can't remember how), so it can't really be a gas can it? But, obviously, it's not a solid either. But, I think someone mentioned it, DHARMA did experiments on animals, so it could be quite possible that the horse only looked like the horse Kate saw. However, if I remember right, Jack touched his dad as well. Anyway, we don't know everything about Smokie so yah. I think I mentioned it earlier, when I started the thread. I think I said that Smokie could be a shapeshifter; that would mean that it could go from being a gas to a solid. That make sense?
