Default Smokie and Juliette - working together

What if Juliette and Smokie were working together as part of the Kate con?

Did Juliette need to wait for Kate to close the fence, or was that all for show? I mean, if they were both safe in a ring of trees, why would they need to run from it later on? And why have a fence if trees protect you?

I'm wondering if during Juliette's stare down with Smokie (the white flashes), maybe Smokie was giving her info to use later on.

Throwing it out there.

I think there's something definitely going on with smokey. I'm new to posting, so I don't know if anyone talked about this, but this has bugged me since that episode. When Kate and company got to the fence they climbed over it while it was on and made it over the top intact. When the smoke went up to it it crashed straight into it while juliet just stared. Why didn't smokey go over the top? It was definitely higher than that before it came to the fence, but swooped down before it hit it. It was high enough to pull the pilot out of the cockpit, throw around Eko in the air? Also you could see, when it hit the fence, the smoke looked like sonic waves, but it didn't pull back right away, it couldn't have hurt that bad.

Gartism: great idea that our buddy Smokey was communicating to/with Juliet.

Perhaps Juliet and the Island are connected, perhaps via a Dharma/JACOB implant. Perhaps JACOB creates Smokey to sense psyches, JACOB then analyzes then commands ... sometimes killing (Ecko), sometimes to communicate. Perhaps Smokey commanded Juliet to behave as she did, and Smokey faked attacking and being blocked by the fence.

Another quickie: perhaps Patchy's death was staged, perhaps the fence isn't activated at all, particularly since the Purple Sky incident - RichPundit

Good point, I've wondered this since season 1.....dive into some bushes and your safe, it's happened 2 or 3 times. I would not be the slightest bit suprised if Juliet is working with Smokie.

Moreconjecture: they tried to throw us off in S1 by having people run from Smokie (all the noises and camera angles from above...Smokie's POV) and then get attacked by the polar bear while in the trees.

Was anyone ever able to avoid Smokie by using the "Ring of Trees" trick? I don't believe so (but will be watching S1 and S2 during the break to look for new answers to old questions).

Also, per the Spoilers page, Mikhail ain't dead...so Rich Pundit is onto something as well.

And Gartism et al, if Patchy faked his graphic death, then it seems that Locke was also his accomplice since Locke unexpectedly pushed Patchy thru the fence, perhaps inactive fence. Also, Locke as an accomplice supports that perhaps, Locke via his Bad Dad Cooper's kidney con, resulted in a pre-815 Dharma implant in Locke thru which perhaps, JACOB commanded (Ben to command) Locke to push Patchy. Locke's "other" behaviors like blowing up Patchy's place, taking the explosive, and blowing up the sub (or pretending to do so), may also be with Locke as an accomplice, perhaps unwilling but unavoidably - RichPundit

Plus, a pre-815 off-Island Dharma surgical implant in Locke is supported by his Superhero-like survival after his Bad Dad's push . Tho' my guess is that Cooper only expected $$$'s for the kidney con, and was unaware of the larger Island purpose. Also, Locke frequently did unexpected and irrational stuff, perhaps he was commanded thru his implant - RichPundit
