| There are times when something hits you and I mean rocks you hard. Once I realized what The Snake in the Mailbox is I not only understood exactly how this season will end but the staggering change ahead. Cause brace for this: Lost will no longer take place on the beach. First of all.. lets digress and examine the seasons. Season 1 was an introduction to the characters, the situation, and the strife going on on the island between the Lost camp and The Others. It ended with the discovery of the hatch and the kidnapping of Walt and destruction of the raft. Season 2 was primarily about the Hatch and the Dharma Initiative. It was our entrance into what that was.. how it was laid out with a beginning a middle.. and ultimately the destruction of the hatch at seasons end. They also picked up and discovered members of The Tail Section via Michael, Sawyer, and Jin's circuitous trip back to the camp. With Eko dying.. the last of them are now gone. No point in saying that.. just saying that. But basically season 2 was about the Hatch. That brings us to season 3. Its easy to say that season 3 is about The Others. And on a level it is.. its a great detailing of The Others and their hierarchy and how things lay out along with their machinations. But what is the season about? This season, as triggered by the list for last season, is about how The Others destroy the Lost camp. In order to do that they needed 3 people(Hurley to tell others to stay away but leaving that off for now). The three primary movers and shakers in the camp. Jack, Kate, and Sawyer. There was two main objectives. The first is to solve the problem of Ben's tumor. Thats a nobrainer its been shown. He needed the surgery and so they needed Jack for that. How exactly Kate and Sawyer factor in.. we've seen their having sex allready used to facilitate Jack doing the surgery. But overall its not that big a factor. Now for the heavy stuff. From here out its in black font.. reveal it at your own risk just in case i just won the Lost Theory lottery which I'm pretty sure I hit dead on. Jack is the Cobra. Or more succinctly.. The Cobra is a hidden personality in Jack created during his time at The Hydra and Otherville. What that means is that while he was at Otherville he either went through an implant, brain control/washing, or whatever... he is now unknowingly under the control of the Others. To give you a better analogy.. for those that have seen the series.. he is Garibaldi in Season 4 of Babylon 5. Working for the other side.. but he don't know it yet. There is the option that he is choosing to sell out the Losties which could be just as valid. The entire point is he will be used to finish this. The reason Juliet Burke stayed behind and came with them to the camp is simple... so she could monitor the hidden personality and trigger it when needed. The buildup for the end of this season is rather simple. You will get answers to mythological questions no longer needed while the Losties prepare via Sayid for a major assault by the Others leading up to the season finale. And just before that final battle commences in that last episode... at that most critical of moments where war is about to commence.. the personality in Jack(The Cobra) will be triggered and in turn he will lower the defenses of the Losties to allow The Others to win without a fight. I have no doubt.. none... that the cliffhanger of this season will be The Others escorting the Losties enmasse into captivity. Some will be offered the choice to join(Jacob's list), others(the bad ones) will be assigned manual labor to help excavate ruins for god knows what reason that we saw them having Kate/Sawyer do at the start of the season. And you can take that to the bank. |

| Sounds quite plausible as Jack was portrayed as the goody two shoes type and the leader to begin with and it would be a great twist. But, i'm not sure if thats the case as in the recent promos the losties are losing trust in him..we're drawn to believe he could be a traitor but the snake in the mail box could be someone completely different (shock factor)..there seems to be a lot of focus on Jack's motives right now..so it wouldn't be a surprise if he were the snake as the writers have made him look suspect...If not Jack, who else could the snake be? Great read! |

| You've excelled yourself this time Tails....this to me seem's a real good theory. I was thinking along those line but not quite as in depth as yourself. Even though people are losing a bit of faith in Jack, he is still going to be trusted after all the things he has done, and the others plan does seem to revolve around getting Jack on side by ruining his cred in the Losties camp. Not so sure about the Implant in Jack, turning him into an others sleeper agent, but a plan to get the same outcome..maybe. Oh..by the way....thanks for ruining season 4 of Babylon 5 for me before I've even started!!! |

| well tailhook that was a very interesting read about your theory on the ending of season 3, but i sure hope it wont got hat way. i mean season 2 ended on a low note for the losties withthree of them being kidnapped. i mean i think we would wana see them get somewhere good. with reference to the snake in the box, couldnt the snake in the box also be locke, he decided to go away withthe others because he must have been in complete awe when he saw his father their. And also sayid and sawyer are onto juliett and jack and hoping them combining their forces they can do something about it beore its to late..........to see the losties marched into the jungle could be plausible also becuse they did say season 4 will take place away from the beach ........................

| Great tale ... Tail Hooker! I particularly like your "triggered implant" weave on this thread. Locke's Off-Island Implant. Perhaps, Locke already has a triggerable implant as evidenced by his superhero survival from his Bad Dad's deadly push, being "Bad Dad" associated and a perhaps talented (e.g., Special Forces?) 815 passenger, and walking as soon as he arrived on the Island. This speculation is being weaved on our Forbidden Planet thread. Others Baby Making Project. Perhaps, Locke is our "Snake" working with the Others to get Claire's baby and baby making talent, which is a very unique and highly valuable talent on our Island. Plus, it is important to get Sun, and perhaps Kate+, to the Dharma Medical Station also for research and "treatment". Losties Beached from Beach. Juliet is sort of the project leader under Ben, who perhaps is highly influenced by JACOB. Seems the project is physically and medically controlling our Losties. Off the beach with them all ... btw, what value is the beach to Losties anyway versus much cozier digs on our Island? Guess the fishing, and the tranquil sights and sounds are great! DocArzt. Our good buddy DocArzt has already revealed: Sun helping Juliet at the Dharma Medical Station. This is probably related to DocArzt's other revelation that Patchy (!) clubs Jin, most likely requiring Juliet's help (Medical Station) as also facilitated by Jack who as Tail suggests, is now connected with the Others - RichPundit |

Hehe.. what I revealed wasn't 'that' huge to the overall story of B5 or even season 4. The story is far bigger than that. | |

| as ive thought from the very start i believe that jack is not the most important character of the series like is being pointed out and also the characters are the centre of this popular series but is instead mystery and essence of the island, and the flashbacks are just leading us further astray from the real answer |
