Sure that this has been posted, but I'm not a frequent visitor....

The people on the Others "list" were "good". They will be sent home eventually. All the rest, like our survivors, all have sins, demons etc. Assuming that time manipulation/travel is possible by the others, our survivors will be sent back to their lives to earn redemption by not committing their mistakes and crimes.
