Default Statue and other theories.....

Forgive me if this has been floated already (I spent the weekend catching up to LOST....26 eps in two days)

We know that whatever happens in the Locke/Sun reality will be directly affected by what's happened in the Sawyer/Jack reality.

And, because of that, I'm fairly certain that the statue being reduced to merely a foot is the direct result of jughead's detonation.

And, if Jacob is dead (or at least taking a coffee break) I think we should pay close attention to Richard. When confronted about his lack of aging, he said "I am the way I am because of Jacob". If Jacob truly dies, I think Richard will follow immediately after. If Richard remains the way he is I think it's a sure bet that Jacob is merely "sitting this one out" until *his* "loophole" comes into play.

By the way, I believe he visited each one of the survivors (and touched each of them) to create his own loophole as an insurance policy against his nemisis' loophole. I think we'll see Jacob's loophole coming into play earlier rather than later in season 6.

I think the bittersweetness that both Henry and Matthew eluded to will be the consequences each character suffers as a result of the choices they'll be confronted with in season 6.

For instance, Saeed chose to kill, feeling that he was in some way justified in doing so (the same reason Ben did and has done throughout the series). As each character is "tempted" by their own demons (please don't go down the wrong path Sawyer) and desires, their choices will seal their fates.

I like you thought of what happens to Richard once Jacob dies. Hadn't thought of that.

Yeah, but Alpert is slated to appear in 14 eps, so while its an interesting thought it's highly unlikely.
