Fallout, birth and something might be lost?

Apparently the fetus inside a pregnant woman is much more vunrable to radiation. In fact women who are pregant and exposed to nuclear fallout mostly die during or before

the third trimester.

Could this be a clue? Maybe the incident happened and they tried to fix it with the bomb which caused the new version of "the incidnet"

think about it. The pocket of exotic energy is released at the same time jughead blows up. The resulting nuclear explosion negates the energy of the pocket so no big boom right?

what about the fallout, is the entire island tingling with small amounts of nuclear fallout. weak enough to not harm normal human beings, but the fetus of women is vunrable, gets messed up and in turn kills the mom?

how is cancer cured? kemo low doses of radiation are used to put the cancer into remision.

Rose had cancer right? of course radiation does not make people walk again!

Desmond went bouncing through time right and the first question faraday asked was "were you recently exposed to radiation?"

hmmmm the island can bounce through time, maybe because of radiation?

maybe, just maybe no one is really lost

maybe the island got lost, lost in time and magical people live there and the island was never ever ever supposed to be accessable by people, but jacob and mib guy maybe others messed up and the island itself got lost.

I think there's something else at play besides radiation. Rose visited a healer that explained how there are different pockets of energy around the world that can heal. Mrs. Hawking described something similar. Radiation, even at low doses can wreak havoc on the body. I think that their may indeed be radiation on the island because of the bomb, but the island may be protecting everyone from the effects, in addition to healing some of them. For some reason, the island can't heal the unborn.

Here's a thought. What if it is actually Jacob who is doing the healing? Richard said he was immortal because of Jacob. That's really the ultimate in healing. And it's interesting that Ben formed a tumor when we know now that he is not in good favor with Jacob. With Jacob dead, will they all start getting sick? Will Richard turn into dust?
