Default Fake Locke, perhaps other fakes as well?

Do we know at this point if anyone really is who we think they are. Is it possible other flight 815 people are actually fakes?

We saw Christian after he died and we also saw Claire. With Claire returning for the last season how can we be sure it really is her?

I'm thinking Claire is alive now that it's a good bet that Christian is smokey. I say that because we saw Claire and Christian together. I think smokey can only be one person at a time which is why Locke wasn't around when Ben's daughter showed up. But if Claire's alive, where is she and what does smokey want with her?

They'd really twist our legs if Jack was smokey....He got separated from Kate and Charlie back in the Pilot and then randomly reappeared....of course he's been off the island so I'm just making jokes.

You know, that is a good point.

But i distinctly remember in 'The Cost of Living' where Eko encounters three dead men from his past. It's obvious this encounter was the black smoke, as it was trailing him seconds before this scene. So i think smokey can take more than one form.

That said, i don't know why fake locke would have to leave. Maybe smokey has to concentrate harder to create multiple apparitions, and he didn't want to maintain an unnecessary apparation (Locke)

Wow. Great memory. I forgot all about the mutiple assault on Eko. What's even more interesting is that they didn't die on the island. Weren't they the ones that Eko killed in the church? I guess there's no hard rules about who Smokey can be.

Smokey appeared as the smoke monster to Ben before turning into Alex. I suppose that's why fake Locke couldn't be around.

haha the scifi channels shown it twice last week, so i can't exactly say i have a good memory. But yes they were the ones Eko killed in the church, we see his flashback a couple minutes later showing it happen.

About smokey taking off-island apparitions, i think once it scans you, it can be someone/something in your memory.

But this brings up the question 'how would Ben have seen his mother?'. We never see him run into smokey before he gets shot, so how could smokey appeear as his mom? Maybe Uncle Rico got scanned and thats how smokey knows what Ben's mom looks like.

its funny now thinking about it. there have been times when loche has been dark and aggressive and, times when he is very unsure and indecisive. I think loche may have been played from the start so maybe the real loche is dead? may explain why he could walk after he was crippled when they landed

Will Loche kill Loche did Loche kill Loche is Loche alive or is loche dead

I would honestly venture to say the entire shows purpose hinges on the fact that the nemesis of Jacob (whatever you all call him, I'm new here, first post) has played the Others and Survivors from the Pilot episode into getting Jacob killed. I doubt all the visions of people were of the nemesis, some did good (Christian leading the Jack/survivors to fresh water). But definitely the vision of Yemi was the nemesis of Jacob. I believe his purpose in misguiding Eko was to fuel John's belief in fate (after all, without Eko John would have given up) which lead to the death of Jacob. And on the subject of Black and White, did anyone notice how black Eko was, and how white John is? I actually think the smoke monster is another incarnate of the nemesis of Jacob, and that every kill was selective in his intent to find the loophole. Remember when Ben was to be judged by the smoke monster? It told him to listen to John (season 5), so at this point we can clearly determine the smoke monster is the nemesis of Jacob.
