Default Closing the loop

Everything that has happened will happen. Except for those who exist in their "present" state.

Jack, Kate, Juliet, Hurley, Miles, Jin, and Sayid currently exist in their "present" state in 1977. But everyone else, Horace, Radisnky, etc.. are not in their "present" state, they can't change anything.

Ben, Locke, Richard, the others exist in their "current" state in current times.

The man in black found what he thinks is a loophole. He used that loophole to kill Jacob. Jacob is dead (for now).

But Jacob knew about the loophole and he has already countered the loophole. With all the people he met in the past and touched. Did you notice how he touched each person.

The man in black has killed Jacob and Jacob is dead. But Jack in his "present" state detonated the bomb. The bomb is going to work, maybe not exactly as intened, but it's going to work.

Flight 815 is not going to crash which means Locke will not get to the island, and the loophole is closed. The man in black will not be able to kill Jacob.

This will lead to "the war" the war will end and just like the man in black said, they come, they corrupt, it always ends the same.

then the cycle begins again with Jacob bringing people to the island and it all starts over again.

But what if this circle has been repeating itself already for probably a long time(the ship, the statue, the hyeroglifics) what if the losties trying to prevent the incident has already happened all before for more than a few times? thats how jacob knows everything, that's what he means with "progress".
now the story can only end once, and maybe that end means breaking that circle once and for all???

think of it this way

Jacob and the man in black started playing this game 5000 years ago and they have been using people as the pieces. the game has ended already several time, and jacob being jacob started the game once again by bringing the black rock to the island.

5000 years ago when the game began the pieces were other people, not jack, not kate, maybe egyptians?

the losties are just caught up in the current game. maybe the game takes 1000 years to play or 108 years, it does not matter.

The game is the Giant Circle, and within the circle is another cirlce the time travel stuff, and traped in both circles are the pieces, everyone else but jacob and the man in black.

Jacob starts the game and now that the game has started the man in black just wants to win.

Y-Ssin the game has been hinted at all throughout the show. If you just got into Lost, you definetly need to watch the first couple seasons, theres a lot of very important stuff there. and touz is just throwing out a hypothetical number for his example, we have no idea how long this they've been around.

When you guys talk about a game i can't help but thinking about locke playing backgammon with Walt. Maybe that has something to do with it??

yeah exactly you got it, back in season one locke was teaching walt how to play backgammon and he made a point to explain that its the oldest game know to man, there are two sides one black and one white. Now we meet Jacob wearing very simple clothes no shoes and he has a white shirt. And his buddy is wearing the same pants, with a rope belt, but he has sandles on, and a black shirt. And since we see that the statue is not destroyed and we see a boat that appears to be the black rock, I'm assuming this is a couple hundred years in the past. Jacob started the game again by bringing regular people to the island. the man in black was like this always end the same, they come, they polute, corrupt and destroy. Whoever these guys are if they are deities, gods, aliens, super humans, etc.. they are super powerfull and they are competing againts each other in some sort of game. All the flight 815 people, the others, Ben, Locke, even Richard are the pieces. Jacob seems to be the "free will" side. The man in black seems to be the "destiny' side. If they really are realy gods then I would say this game has been played for Thousands of years, each game begins with Jacob brining people to the island, It ends when either Jacob wins or the man in black wins. The man in black always wins because knows nothing other than destiny, it is the destiny of the game to end the same and the game can be played again. If the man in black wins Jacob cant exist because destiny would always dominate. But if free will wins then destiny cant exist. They co-exist and are at odds with each other, at war with each other, yin and yang, good and evil, black and white.

Man thanx, that must be the best theory ever in this forum, this one all fitts!!!!
I always thought that these events happened before, this kinda proves it dontyou think, i'm almost 100% positive about this, otheriwse they wouldn't give us that mysterious backgammon scene in season one, keep it quiet for 4 other seasons, and probably know revealing the mystery about it in season 6!!!
Man there are going to be ALLOT of questions answered next season.
Some wrote in another thread that season 5 and six would be two short seasons.
If that's true how the hell are we going to get all our answers in 16 or 17 episodes???!!!!
