Ending Theory

Bomb-

If the H bomb DID go off because Juliet hit it with a rock and not because Jack threw it down a well, it would have leveled all the Dharma houses and killed the survivors instantly. Which doesnt exactly make for a good Season 6.

Time Travel-

Some people say that the big flash was them time traveling back to their original time, but as far as I remember...the only time they have time traveled is when the wheel was turned in the Orchid. So that isnt a very good explanation either.

The last theory....

Electromagnetic Discharge-

Remember when Desmond didnt press the button, the Swan went into an electromagnetic frenzy. Desmond had a key, he used this key to release the big electromagnetic charge. At this time Ben had captured Kate Jack and Sawyer and he was out on the beach or the dock with them. A really BRIGHT LIGHT lit up the afternoon sky and everything that had magnetized in the hatch blew out all over the island. Which is why the hatch door is on the beach.

I think that is exactly what happened at the end of this episode.

I also think because Juliet was exposed to this same amount of radiation and electromagnetism I think she will have psychic visions just like Desmond had after the swan exploded.

Did I just blow your mind?

That is the best theory I could come up with about that ending.

The Season 6 pilot shows an eye, I think it's Juliets eye. Since Season 5 ended with her I would think its appropriate to start with her as well. I think she will be having one of those Desmond like visions in the begining of Season 6, but who knows.

I think that is a good theory. I totally agree that it was a electromagnetic discharge.

When Desmond turned the failsafe key the sky turned violet.

When the losties were jumping around in time on the island, everything turned white.

When Juliet bashed the bomb everything turned white.

They traveled in time, to the present. Thats why Jacob says 'They're coming..."

Agreed. It was time travel. The bomb and the EM energy somehow cancelled (or complimented) eachother and opened a portal sending everyone to the time where they belong. The EM pocket definately has something to do with time because of the effects it had on Desmond. Perhaps the exotic matter under the orchid is similarly capable of releasing great energy. Turning the wheel causes it to come into contact with the EM pocket and this is what moves the island through time. Time, not space. The reason the island moves physically is because, according to Eloise, the island is always moving. If you move forward in time, it will jump to where the island is supposted to be at that time. But that's another topic.

As far as Juliet goes, I hope JustLost is right and that she becomes the next Desmond (especially if she wakes up naked in the jungle).
