What did locke do while he was dead?

So Ben killed Locke, then later he came back to life on the island.

so between the time Ben killed him and his return he was dead right?

Did he go visit Hurley and tell him to return to the island, is that why Hurley changed his mind?

Was he talking to other dead people? Perhaps he went to visit Charlie, Libby, Boone, etc..

Maybe he talked to Walt in his dreams??

maybe he was just dead?

Considering his condition this time, I think he was in a super deluxe Island rehap program.
