Nope, the numbers maybe, but we saw that runway being built in 2004.

Yeah, it's certainly fun theorizing. This is one of the few shows that encourages people to think.

Lurcher, I really like your theory and how it fits in the the altered timeline theory, which I also agree with. I would put that as a strong 2nd to the Locke connection theory. The only thing about the altered timeline that's bothering me is, who built the runway? If, as it appears, the Others never took over the Dharma stations and camp, who would have built it?

However, the mere fact that it was originally built suggests that someone had foreknowledge it would be needed. Perhaps Jacob told the Others to build it originally and told someone else to build it in the altered timeline, still knowing it was going to be needed.

I think it was in "The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham" that it says the time period Sun, Ben, Lapidus and Locke are in (it might be a later episode). The episode has a scene from Dharma time (1977) then flashes to the 316ers and the caption says "30 years later". I don't think they would put a "fact" like that in, just to come back later and say "April fools! We fooled you into thinking it was 2007". My guess is that they really are in 2007. Erikau adds an important point that the runway was built in 2004 as well.
