Techteach Why would Kate not go to Sawyer furneal if he was in the coffin. I believe Michael or Ben will be the coffin. Since we know that everything this season is leading up to Jack's meltdown at season 3 final Through the Looking Glass it is possible that one or both could get off island but will not die until sometime next season. Just like they did with Charlie last year. We knew that he was going to die. We kept hoping that some how Desmond would be able to change it but his death kept changing each time he did. As for this season Bernard could bite the bullet (I forgot about him and Rose) but since he is not a main character I think for punch if they had to kill a main character I would think it would have to be Juliet.

Michael was in the coffin, not Sawyer. it said on the newspaper that a Mr. Johnson was found hanging in his apartment.

e! has been wrong in the past...multiple times...i am leaving the option open that sawyer gets killed based on much more reliable sources at lostpedia.com...as a sawyer fan i hope it is not he who dies...as for why kate doesn't go to the funeral may have to do with the fact that several losties are going to get off the island under aliases and can not associate with the O6 after returning to the mainland...

the name in the obituary was john lantham, which the producers have already said was a prop and not to be taken literally...

I agree that it could be Juliet that bites it. She has played out her usefulness and handed Jack over to Kate. Claire is off chatting up her dad, but very much alive. The living see dead people on this island routinely. Michael is another prime candidate for death though. He wants out anyway. He may die heroically helping to take out Keamy and co.

Also, I don't think Claire gave up her baby or that she gets killed. I think that Kate leaves with the baby because they can't find Claire after she disappeared and that she pops up after the boat has taken everyone home. I think that next season will revolve around two different story lines, one of the island, and one on the island. I also think the final season will be the Oceanic Six going back to the island to rescue, or at least attempt to rescue, the remaining survivors. Ben WILL have all of the 6 "employed" before it's all said and done.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I completely agree that the reason Claire did not get off the island is because they couldn't find her and she is presumed dead. I think she will show up after the "ship has sailed". lol. Poor Claire.

the living do not see dead people on this Island routinely... the island only manifests itself to a select few....

Jack and Claire see Dady
Ben Sees Mom
Locke Hotboxes to see Boone
Eko saw Yemi.. (but yemi says "what makes you think I am your brother) so this one is questionable..
Kate.. her Daddy/Marshall... take you pick... either way it wasn't a fun time for Kate

in the show.. Ben is the first to see a dead person as far as Timeline Goes... Richard recognizes this Special Gift...

Ben recognizes Locke's hearing of Jacob and feels threatened... Ben attempts to kill Locke...

now Ben also knows Hurley may have seen Jacob.. but we know Hurley survives... does Locke.??? Locke and Hurley are currently with Ben.. going to see Jacob... if I was Locke.. I would be a bit more careful this time???? but I still think Ben is going to attempt to kill both Hurley and Locke.. and Locke saves Hurley and dies while doing it...

This Island has offered Help... Christian led Jack to Water and Shelter.. Boone Led Locke to the other Hatch..

Libby.. doesn't want Michael to blow the ship...

etc etc... The Island is Helping the Losties.... Daddy came by to see Grand Son.. and then left him... didn't hurt him... why would we even consider Claire is in danger???

I hope Michael dies. I don't think it will be Claire. I think there maybe a LOST movie when the series ends or before like XFILES did. I think Claire is just "lost' for the moment. Kate takes the baby off the island because Claire is missing.

Claire is already dead. The way she came out virtually untouched from that house means she has to be a manifestation of Smokey or the island and not Claire.

I also would like to think that Claire is still alive. For one I don't think the show has enough females on it anymore as it is. Plus they've killed so many female characters in the past.
