Elizabeth Mitchell is the newest female cast for Lost's third season. She was born on March 27, 1970 at Los Angeles, California. She recently starred on the film Running Scared. She has also been in other movies such as Frequency and The Santa Clause 2. She was also on the hit television series, ER as Dr. Kim Legaspi for 14 episodes (2000-2001).

A Tale of Two Cities, the third season's premiere, is rumored to be a Kate-centric episode (yes, it's Kate, not Jack).

The recurring characters appearing in Kate's flashbacks are: Amelia, 60s, preferably African American, Asian or Latina, motherly, warm, and funny and; Karl, young, handsome, interesting and sardonic. Actor must not be older than 20-21 and can be any ethnicity.

Now, haven't we heard about that Amelia character before? She was mentioned too on the Juliet spoiler:

07/14 - Juliet, a woman in her mid-30s, will be added to the cast as a regular. Juliet is a natural leader and a smart and independant woman. One of her flashbacks (?) will involve her mother Amelia. During said flashback, the ladies will discuss burnt brownies and Juliet's love life. It seems that Juliet may be an Other. Jack is held alone in a room and Juliet looks at him, separated from him with a glass window. Jack tries to break the chains that are holding him. Juliet tries to convince a pissed off Jack to trust her. Source: SpoilerFix.com

So, does this mean that there will be new character connections (Juliet-Kate)? Who could Karl be? And why not a Jack-centric premeire (like the previous seasons)?

Oh, and btw, speaking of Juliet, I think the new cast member, Elizabeth Mitchell will be portraying the mysterious character.

The island is actually a badly constructed floating Death Star. It's already got rid of Atlantis, but it can't do landlocked countries.

I think actually one of these new female characters is going to be a romantic interest, possibly for Jack.

Kate will "make her choice" in the first six episodes of the season. Her choice is presumably between Sawyer and Jack.

So for any one who cares i think that Kate will choose Sawyer considering that this new female character might be for jack. what is everyone's thoughts?

I agree with you that Kate will choose Sawyer.
