New Season 3 Characters from?

Ausiello: Will we see some of those mysterious background survivors move to the forefront next season?
Carlton: Yeah, we've been so busy telling other stories that we haven't gotten around to talking that much about some of the other survivors. So yes, you will learn more about some of the other survivors next year.
Damon: Also, where the new characters come from in Season 3 is going be part of the fun and anticipation over the summer, and hopefully by the end of the finale you'll be getting some sense of who those characters might be.

Sounds like to me in Damon's statement he is alluding to new characters other than no-name survivors. I would assume Alex to certainly be a possible, maybe a few more of the "Others" defect? A Dharma or Widmore person(s)? Another shipwreck?

(if this is speculation I appologize)

Ideas?

I would LOVE to see Alex her story... and I want her to find her mother again...

I cant wait to see who else is on the island. he makes it seem like we should somewhat know these characters or something. It will be interesting to see what they have come up with but i hope they dont overwelm themselves with new characters again

The producers have stated they're going to "explain why the plane crashed" in the season finale... perhaps they'll do this by crashing ANOTHER plane, full of new survivors! It would explain that the first plane crashed in the same way.

I could see that happening I guess, but meh.. That idea kinda turns me off from excitement for the third season.

i dont think there gonna crash a whole new plane but

highlight for possible stories and some ramblings of a mad man
if micheal was telling the truth then what if all the people that got taken are in the hatch and in the finalie they go and rescue them that 23 or however many it was, new people to play with right there, also desmonds coming back so maybe he'll become a regular, theres also rosseau, alex, and theres always the possiblity of an episode or two for the others i mean why not battlestar galactica did it

Is a reason to watch 3rd series theyre going to release a whole new mystery...pretty much the lost as we know it will end but theyll come up with something to continue it...i like to think of it like friends and joey but hey lol all we wanna no is why it crashed!

I think Henry will defect tell the whole story and help michael get walt. If he goes back he will as he said be killed and alex could bring more others back that want to defect.
