| This is my first post, but I am an avid reader. I figured I'd wait to post until I knew something factual, worth posting. So here it is (read with caution): Harold Perrineau ("Michael") will not be coming back next season. He WILL NOT BE KILLED. The producers have said that they MIGHT have him back in season 4 IF he is still available for the show. But in a few weeks he will no longer be contracted to the show. Michelle Rodriguez ("Ana Lucia") will not be coming back as a regular. Im not sure if she is killed or "lost." "Several" other "series regulars" will not be coming back on a regular basis according to the producers - they will either be killed or just "disappear." New characters (series regulars) will be introduced. This is where "creative" meets "budget." They cant keep all those actors around, especially the original cast members, who are making big money. So, they let some go and bring in some new folks. If they like you but think they can loose you, they dont kill you, let you go and say 'maybe we'll see you down the road.' Also, I know Josh Holloway ("Sawyer") is definitely coming back. No surprise there. BTW, for those who described the "guest stars" in the season finale (i.e. Rupert Murdoch type and his "daughter") -- dont read into that too much. Those were the "breakdowns" the casting director sends out to cast the show. They are just "types" that they are looking for. The writers are too smart to make detailed character information so easily accessible. |

| If this is, indeed, true it would match a theory I have about how this season might end...I think some of the Losties are going to "become" Others... would explain why some are going to become non-regulars, but might not be killed off... -Desmond |

| That kinda fits in with the facts we got from Michael Emerson's radio interview and grendel_z's possible spoiler info about Michelle Rodriguez's trailer... But, I think if you remove too many pieces of the puzzle, it just won't be the same if too many people die or defect... I think Ana Lucia has a lot left to give I thought she was in for the long haul, looking less and less likely that she'll stay around I was'nt sure so I spoiler tagged the whole kittenkaboodle |

They film for about 9 months a year. Episodes are shot weeks before you see them. By the time the finale actually airs, the actors will have been on summer hiatus (aka vacation) for weeks. As I said, when their contracts expire in a few weeks, those characters are gone. That means you will continue to see them for THIS season, and then they disappear. Whether they come back at some point in the life of the show is up to the producers and the actor's availability. | |
