I think Stephen King very well could have written Bad Twin. After all he did refer to Lost as the show he wished he could have come up with.

o.k., I've just started lurking around here trying to get better acquainted with Lost, I missed most of the first season and some of the second and still need to review all that, but this dang show has me hooked. I'll never quite follow it like some of you but somewhere in the back of my head, I saw a connection to the Dark Tower series. This may just be a tribute to Stephen King and we may see a few more for fun, but, if they are giving him a tribute they also may be paralleling some things with some of his works, especially the Dark Tower since Mr. King himself has said something to the effect that all his works tend to rotate or link up to the Dark Tower. With all the potential EM stuff going on in the Lost Island, and the whole thing in the Dark Tower about the beam keeping the world together, I've got to think there is a similarity. Maybe the EM on this island is at least keeping this weirdly real / illusionary island together? Another albeit slightly less possible link to a novel I read called 'The Life of Pi' and its a really fascinating read about a young Indian boy shipwrecked on a raft with some animals that were on the ship, basically all get eaten except Pi and a Bengal Tiger, and its about how Pi survives somehow the ordeal. late in the book he comes across a floating island made of strange carniverous plants and inhabited by meerkats. Nothing in the book is every revealed as true or false, but from the perspective of Pi, who could have been hallucinating for all we know. The connection is remote but the animals, surviving, and a weird island are somewhat similar. Anyway, that's my two cents, but I definitely think that Lost has some flavor of the Dark Tower series in it. If I think of more I'll post again.

As I was watching the episode last night, it occurred to me that in the Dark Tower the Rose in field in Manhattan plays a significant part in that series, it must be saved and it holds the keys to the universe or something like that. And now we know more about the character "Rose" in Lost, how the island has in her mind cured her. Is Rose from Manhattan? Then we have a direct connection.

Rose is from the Bronx, which is near Manhattan. They're both boroughs of New York City.
