Libby in a mental institute?

i was looking at the promo pics for dave and there is a woman in the mental institute who has the same face as libby i think but darker hair. it could be libby yeah?

yes. That is her. That's why on Ask Ausiello awhile back someone said "Could it be that libby is not a shrink but a ********** ****?" and Ausiello said that's what he was hearing.

Some thought it meant "Television Star" but most others thought it meant "Compulsive Liar" Such as when she told Hurley when he said he thought he knew her, that it was because he stepped on her foot as he was getting on the plane.

I remember before season 2 started my mom told me Cynthia Watros was going to be playing a new character on Lost and that she had appeared before in episode 4 (Walkabout) in a flashback. I rewatched that episode and the only female I noticed was Helen on the other end of the phone. So I asked my mom if Cynthia would be playing Locke's Helen, and she said no, this character was named Libby. But the producers have now said their are two Helens, Locke's girlfriend and a phone sex operator Locke likes to call Helen. I'm wondering if Libby is actually that girl. Because really, if you're on an island where nobody knows you, you'd probably be inclined to make up a more impressive career than phone sex operator. Also, if she was a mental patient then she would probably have a fairly good idea of therapy techniques, allowing her to pass for a psychologist like she did in Maternity Leave.

wow thats cool. is she is a compulsive liar, then she totally must have lied about her career. i wonder how she got claire to remember if she is a fraud?

Well claire was bound to remember sooner or later; she just needed a push (and having to remember or else your sick baby might die is a pretty good push). Also, compulsive liars can be very smart. They have to remember stories and make them work. If Libby was in a mental institution she probably took careful notice of what the therapists were doing and was able to use that to manipulate other people. Maybe. If this psych patient theory pans out.
