| Did anyone notice in the episode in season one where Locke went out to the plane and lost the ability to walk? I think the hatch is sending out electromagnetic currents that's enabling him to suddenly and seemingly magically walk. If he gets too far away, he can't walk. Seems likely, since Jack's key or necklace or whatever he wears is always being pulled towards the mystery inside the hatch. I think if they ever did get off the island, Locke would choose to stay. He seems deleriously happy there. I also think Walt is held up in some kind of other telekentic hatch and that is why he can appear to Shannon, albeit jumbled. The orientation video said something about teleknetic type research in addition to magnetism and genetics. |

| Locke does talk about the island "giving people what they want". He either has a real grasp of what's going on (remember he's the only one who's seen the "monster".. and has chosen not to tell anyone about it) or he's a kook living out his walkabout fantasy. But don't forget... Locke took Sayid back to the plane to retrieve radio parts and seemed fine at the time. Quote:
As for Walt, it was mentioned last season that he had some special powers and "things happen" around him. The fact that the Others were so interested in him might imply that they were aware of this somehow and that's why they came and took him. So, it is possible they've taken him for some research. Why is Walt appearing to Shannon? Is it because she's watching Vincent? They really don't have any other connection. I mean, if I were to project myself metaphysically, I'd probably choose my dad over Shannon the whiner. Does Vincent have a bigger part to play in all this? Perhaps Vincent is the mastermind behind it all. | |

| I think that Locke is happy being there because he can hunt, track, and explore, the meaning of a walkabout. Thats a pretty good idea of John waving to everybody leaving. The monster didn't kill him because, he was (meant to do this) like what he said in Walkabout. Maybe he also has physic powers too. Remember, he was hanging out with Walt till he had to start hunting. |
