Are you glad Michael is coming back?

All right, so here goes... I don't like Michael. I don't like his character. Never did, even from the very beginning. I cried my eyes out when he lost Walt, but it was mostly because I was worried about Walt, not because I cared about Michael. And he just became even more annoying after he lost Walt. Then he disappeared for a few blissful episodes and comes back and kills Libby and Ana-Lucia, betrayed the islanders and well, you're all LOST fans, you know your LOST history as well as I do. I was glad to see him go, goodbye and good riddance. I thought that was the end of Michael. Now he gets to come back? They get rid of a great character like Charlie and yet spineless Michael gets to come back?

So I am bit peeved. And since I've mostly been a lurker on this site I've had lots of time to read a lot of your thoughts, theories and opinions and I respect all of them, whether I agree with them or not.

So please share your thoughts with me. Are you happy Michael is back? Why? Do you like his character? Are you peeved like me? Any thoughts you have on the whole Michael issue are welcome here. I look forward to hearing from you.

okay I'll say it. I don't care for Michael, I never did. He killed 2 people, then traded Kate, Sawyer, and Jack to Ben for Walt.
In the outside world, he would of been in prison for a long time. If not the death penalty he would have gotten life. Yeah they took Walt, but I'm sure there would of been a better way of going about getting him back.
Take an army across the island, to retrieve Walt.

I just don't like Michael. And I am 110% sure he is in the casket at the season 3 finale.

I agree with both of you ladies for pretty much the same reasons --

Although I can see how desperate he was to regain his son, there HAD to have been a better way to do so -- It doesn't excuse him from being a murderer and a kidnapping broker.

And yes, his character was severely annoying and offered little depth (altho having a carpenter around WAS super handy).

I'm really curious to see in what capacity he comes back and how everyone is going to react to his return. I say that he has no choice but to band with the Others for fear of his life...

I am glad I am not alone! I am also curious as to how they are going to bring him back and how he will explain his return. Did he ever leave? Did he leave and come back? And maybe that's why Jack was so tormented about the funeral, because it was Michael and it was his only way of getting back to the island? But all my questions still don't make me feel better about his return. He better stick with the Others or Sawyer will throw him over to "Smokey"! Thanks so much for responding to my poll!

I'm glad he's back but only to get whats coming to him........I hope Hurley gets Medievil on his ass!

Looking forward to Walt returning also, I need to know exactly why Walts so special.

I'm glad Mike is back. I'm really interested to find out what happened to him and his son.

As most people I guess, I am not too happy to see Michael again. His character is loudmouth, always angry or yelling at someone. And he killed Libby, which is unforgivable as far as I'm concerned.

But I like Walt and I too want to know what is special about him (beside talking backward while dripping water. Creepy !), so if Michael is back, Walt will also return. And it would be interesting to know what there life was after they left the island.

Whether or not I liked Michael as a character has nothing to do with whether or not I'm happy his character is coming back. I really disliked Michael, but I'm glad to see him back in the show. He was a whiny selfish out of control jerk but he drove a lot of the story, especially because of his association with Walt. Every story needs conflict to survive. Michael did certainly inject his fair share of conflict in there. Mostly though, I'm happy to see him back because his and Walt's stories aren't finished. It was nice to take a break from all the "They took my son!" whininess, but we're long overdue for some continuation/resolution to that story.

Oh, and one more point: Who's to say that Michael is going to be the same person when he comes back? He really only got annoying when his son was gone. His son isn't gone anymore, or at least he wasn't last we saw. In fact, maybe all his time gone will have caused him to reconsider his attitude and decisions and he'll come back a changed man. Just saying let's not get lost in the past. (Believe me though, I did my fair share of screaming at the television for Michael to just SHUT UP already.)

You have a point, but Michael always had a chip on his shoulder from the pilot forward and even in his flashback. All in all, I really didn't want Michael to just sail away into the Big Blue Sea, so I'm glad that we might have some better closure.
