Default Best Movie Trilogy Ever

Which do you think is the best movie trilogy of all time?

1.] Back to the Future
2.] Die Hard
3.] The Godfather
4.] Indiana Jones
5.] Jurrasic Park
6.] The Lord of the Rings
7.] The Matrix
8.] Star Wars (old)
9.] X-Men
10.] Other trilogies

My choice would be Star Wars. Of course, the old one (who likes the new ones, anyway??). It was very advanced for it's time, it had some of the most memorable characters ever, it had one of the best catch phrases, it had one of the best twist ever and after many years, it is still a very enjoyable and entertaining watch.

JP comes close but I thought the third part wasn't that good. JP was amazing (the visuals and animatronics are still good compared to present movies) and JPII was a good sequel. I just wish they made JPIII better.

I don't like the LOTR trilogy that much, though. I think it's a bit overrated (and very long).

The same goes for The Godfather and The Matrix. I didn't like both that much. I thought that only the first parts were great. I loved Marlon Brando's performance.

I also voted for the original Star Wars trilogy. It's almost impossible to beat. My second vote is a write in.....the ALien Trilogy. The third alien movie wasn't as great as the first two, but it worked. The Matrix trilogy should have just stopped after the first one, along with JP. THe second JP was entertaining, but really no need for 2, possibly 3 more. Back to the Future were great as well, but again could have been fine without the other 2. X-Men started off real strong and then just went down the crapper with X-Men 3. I guess what i'm saying is, they just don't make them like they used to.

It also seems like the movie industry is running out of ideas. It's either a sequal, remake, comic book movie or a video game movie. Yes they are entertaining, but i want some originality.

True, again.

Hey dz, I thought that Alien was a four-part and not a trilogy? I guess you forgot Alien: Resurrection, you know, the one with Winona and Ron (Perlman). Figures though, coz that film was totally forgettable and useless (like the crossover AVP).

Thumbs up I have a bad feeling about this...

Do you have to ask? Star Wars. The only thing that comes to a close second is Lord of the Rings. It's not close enough for me to waiver though. The original Star Wars trilogy was and still is today: brilliant. I am totally disgusted that you can't get a copy of the original on DVD... I could talk for hours about the films and my near obsession with them.

But I digress...

Yeah i don't count that one just cause it such a piece of crap. Another example of hollywood not knowing when to call it quits.

Actually you will be able to buy the original "unaltered" DVD in September. However, it will only be available from Sept. to Dec. Here is the link.
