Best Tv Detective Of All Time!

in honour of themisfits detective skills and my genuine love of tv detectives, i throw out to my tailsection hommies...
who is the best?
for me its a very close fight between quincy, and magnum. with quincy pipping him to the post. with jessica fletcher and mark sloan close behind...

so who is it? feel fre to discuss...

my argument...
no one truely achieved the greatness of quincy. mixing the classic mystery of tv dectectivism, and for its time, and still occasionally, cutting edge social issues, quincy lays the smack down on all other detectives. never , or rarley resorting to action or violence for cheap thrills, the writing was witty, intelligent and fresh. the chemistry between quincy and sam was palapable and the white haired leitenent and tashe'd boss that never agree with him, no matter how often he is right, add an air of tension.
only beaten by magnum for best opening credits.

Well that was a hard choice between quincy and mark sloan - both great! But Quincy gets the girls and lives on a boat so thats got to put him in the lead...but then Mark rides around on an electric scooter thing sometimes...oh its so hard but ive already voted now.

he is amazing. but he often relies to much on tricking the culprit into admitting it or soemthing like that to much for me. but u go for it mike
