Ana-Lucia's was the "saddest" because she chose not to kill Fake Henry and she died as a result. She chose to do something good for once, but she ended up dead anyways. The other deaths were accidental. Even Michael said he didn't want to kill Libby.

Libby's death left me with tears from Hurly's reaction; I also feel it was premature. I would have liked to see her character develop more--although we likely will get this through flashbacks but it's not the same.

Gary, the author-slash-turbine dude from the Pilot episode. Where is he? That, I thought was the saddest death on lost. Btw, he also makes the coolest death list.

Shannon's death was the saddest. Poor Sayid. | |

Even though she wasn't a favorite of mine, I voted for Shannon because of the scene when Sayid was carrying her body back to the beach and then they showed Bernard and Jin reuniting with Rose and Sun. It made her death so tragic compared to the joy of those couples finding one another again. And the music... omg... that alone could bring you to tears.

I dunno. I am a Sayid fan, but didn't care as much when Shannon died. I felt more sad for Sayid than for Shannon. When Libby gives her little "I'm real" speech to Hurley on the cliff---and then bites it a few episodes later---that made me feel a real sense of loss. Because, Hurley needed her, and she stole every scene she was in.
