Talking Breaking Bad

Oh. My. God.

So I came across this late... as I usually seem to do. (He'll, I'm still netflixing Dexter!)

Has anyone else seen this?

I'm not too shy about my sense of humor. It's dark and silly and frankly perverted. Or Perverted Frankly, if your name happens to be Frank, sorry. I thought It's Alwyas Sunny in PA was bad, but this is HILARIOUS.

It's on AMC over here on this side of the pond and about a High School Chemistry teacher who finds out he has lung cancer... and since he and his wife are going through horrendous financial problems, decides to cook meth with one of his former students.

I think there have only been 3 shows thus far and god knows if it will stick around even with the strike being over... but seriously. You should check it out.

I'd be interested in hearing your take on it.

Was surprised when i saw the MA tag. Watched the first two episodes and at best it could be described as a very dark comedy. Not really sold on it yet... I'd honestly suggest a far better AMC series and thats the very good Mad Men, a series about ad executives in the late 50's-early 60's.

That's all I need, another show to be addicted too. Currently have Lost, Battlestar Galactica, Chuck and Pushing Daises. I add any more shows and I won't ever get out of the house on weeknights.

The fit hit the shan as the old saying goes and I have the 3rd epi DVR'd so no one tell me what happens lol.

But I'm looking forward to it. Maybe if my teacher retirement dies out I can find one of my old students and... well ok. I suck at Chemistry.

I saw an ad for Breaking Bad and it looked interesting, but I think I will was until it comes out on DVD so I can start it from the beginning.

Clueless, the first season of Dex is now being shown on CBS although it is absolutely Dexter-lite! I understand why they wanted to show it on CBS: empty schedule, it is a really big cultural thing right now and CBS wants to capitalize on that for rating and Showtime is hoping to boost its subscription numbers. But if they were going to modify and televise this show--especially this show--they needed to out it on cable where a bit of the MA:SLV could remain. Anyone familiar with Dexter knows that Dexter's sister Deborah sounds as if she learned how to speak at a party where only sailors, fish wives and truck drivers. She uses the "F" word as every part of speech: as a noun (calling someone an F--er), as an adjective ("This f--ing jerk"), as an interjection (F---! Did you see that?) and of course, as a verb.

Suffice it to say that the Deborah on the CBS Dexter is fond of the much less expressive "freaking" and "screw". One of the reasons I love Dexter is that it is realistic (not the whole serial killer with a heart thing), but in the was people really act and talk. I hate watching the kind of show/film where someone gets shot and shouts "Shoot, that hurt!". And "freakin'" is just silly.

Even though it makes it sound like this, I don't enjoy Dexter solely for its colorful language. It is a great show and if the CBS version is all you have access too, then do watch.

Those of you who are watching the first season (and the second when it comes out on DVD) stay as far away from spoilers as possible. This is one show where you will kick yourself if you find out what is going to happen before you watch it.
