Any actors/theater types out there?

Hey, just wondering if your interest is in the stage, primarily in Community Theater. I'd like to hear from you, in particular on a couple ideas.

1. Do you belong to any forums/message boards dealing with theater? Could be about acting or directing, running a theater group, playwrighting, etc. I'm looking to join up with some like this where ideas can be shared openly. Maybe you could share the web addresses. I belong to two already, but they're kind of low-key and not very active. I need more lively chatter.

2. If you have play knowledge, I'd like to hear about it. Specifically, I'm looking for newer plays that have not been done to death like Godspell, Arsenic and Old Lace, etc. So many groups do Shakespeare and the "classic hits" of the golden Broadway age, there's very little new and exciting and edgy work going on. I run my own group and want to do something different, without venturing into the bizarre, obscene, obtuse or just plain bad. I read plays, but often can only get my hands on what's popular enough to publish, and those are not the ones I want to do. Catch-22. What do you say? Got some suggestions?

3. I'd also like to exchange ideas about acting technique, improv ideas, or anything theater-related. I have some opinions that challenge the old school, and maybe you do too. Or not. Either way, it's always refreshing to discuss this with like-minded people.

4. If you're anywhere near the Southeastern Connecticut area, that's where my theater group is located. Maybe you'd like to check us out. We do workshops on acting, character development, scene study, and we also present shows. Be glad to have you join us sometime.
