| Anyone catch the Goblet of Fire yesterday? I was pretty amazed at how they were able to cut out half the book and still keep the essence of the story line intact. Course, I would have preferred a longer movie, or two parts with more of the whole story, but all in all, I enjoyed it. As long as I remember that it is really not intended to be anything other than an adaptation of the book I can get through these movies without a lot of frustration. But I can't believe that Mad Eye Moody never once yealled "Constant Vigilince". Anyone else have an opinion about the movie?

I'm going to see it tomorrow. I have never read any of the books, which I consider an advantage. It always bugs me to see the cuts. they always choose the best stuff to leave out. A good example is Apt Pupil. POWERFUL novella, weak movie. | |

| Hope you enjoy it. Taken by itself I thought it was an awesome movie. Some of the best special effects I've ever seen. Sometimes I hate to admit that I'm 57 and a Harry Potter fan; people think that old farts like me should be reading more advanced literature. But JK Rowling knows how to tell a story. And since all of us were teenagers once (or will be); everyone can find something to relate too. I have neither seen nor read Apt Pupil (probably cause I'm an old fart), but I'll see if I can't find a hard copy since you don't recommend the film. You know, I understand that you can't translate a book to film literally, some things that read well just don't play well; but it kills me that hollywood types think they can 'improve' on some of the greatest stories ever written. Ego has ruined many a film. Thank God for Peter Jackson. If he had butchered LOTR I would have put out a contract on him. As it is, I can't wait for his King Kong. That man knows how to tell a story on film without destroying the original.

| I watched it last night. Yes, it's a good story and the film looked great. My only issue was it appeared to jump around too much. There were a couple of times when I thought I just blacked out and missed an entire scene. I'm not as old as HAL |

| I watched it today. I was really amazed by the photo-realism of the CGI stuff; just absolutely amazing! It was surprisingly dark in tone compared to the other three. I was surprised to see it was directed by Mike Newell, doesn't really seem like his thing but fooled me. Can't help but think his direction was to play it darker. |

| Haven't gotten to see it yet but I have read it. Have read all the HP books. I also saw an interesting biography on JK Rowling a couple of months ago on A&E. One of the things that she said about the last book - which I am dying for it to come out - is that there are more deaths to come. Can't wait to watch the new movie. |

| It's been about two weeks since I saw it, so I'm ready to go watch it again. The second time always tells me if it is good or not. The first time I'm just too caught up in the story; the second time I can watch for the elements of a good film. But I think this one is going to be the Potter Film to beat. It certainly was a whirlwind. It reminded me of the second Indiana Jones movie; you never got the chance to catch your breath before the next crisis came up. Goblet is like that. Of course taking a 600 page book down to a 2 1/2 hour movie means it's going to be jam packed. But they did it real good. Hope you've had a chance to see it by now. And to answer all of those you thinking "What a loser, probably went dressed as a wizard or something"...... I just wore my Hogwarts T'Shirt. Am not a loser...... Muggle!!
