| Didn't know what to title this thread or what I really want to say about Locke. Just couldn't believe there wasn't anything in this forum yet. I think Locke is the most fascinating character on the show and he's my favorite thing about it. Not only is it very interesting that he was paralyzed and then miraculously healed, I also find his compulsive belief that the island is special endearing because of course, I too think the island is special, lol. I think he was more interesting in the beginning of the series. I think lately we've come to see his weaknesses whereas in the beginning he seemed more confident after having regained his legs. It didn't make sense when he let Henry Gale get under his skin about Jack. Seemed out of character for Locke. Locke struck me as very bright in the beginning and it's almost as though either the writers changed their minds about him, or Locke is becoming more like his old pre-island self, lacking self confidence and easily duped. I've not read this entire site but from what I've read, the posters on here are very bright and have some very well thought out theories. I however just love the show and am glad to have found this site Hope to get to discuss Locke more on this forum |

| The whole change in character seems to be a pattern throughout the show. In the first few episodes Jin and James ("Sawyer") were the bad guys and Locke and Charlie were the good guys. As things developed Jin and James have been adjusting and becoming more team players. Locke is starting to build a hostility against Jack taking the lead (even though in the early episodes he encouraged him to be a leader). James is starting to lose his bad boy facade and become a lot more useful to the team. Jin (after his long running spat with Michael) now seems to be a good guy who has had some bad experiences. Charlie was an example of someone who overcame his problems only to end up rejected and isolated, he's starting to overcome some of these problems by working with Eko and building a relationship with Sawyer. The series started with clear black and white, good and bad images but as things are progressing these seem to be becoming more shades of grey. It's starting to look like there is going to be a split in the group with Jack leading one group and Sawyer leading the other. I think this will lead to Locke getting more frustrated and becoming more isolated. Then there's the Walt factor. Walt has a lot of respect for Locke and with the special powers he has to make things happen he could help Locke build up his standing with the islanders. Although who knows what happened when he was with 'the others', maybe he's happy there and they're not as evil as they've been made out. If Walt is some sort of 'chosen one' then the others may well want to protect him and may need to treat Locke and Michael well to do this. Spoiler: We should find out more about Walt and Michael in the next couple of episodes |

Without a doubt, Charlie has gone from a good solid character to a disgusting creep in my book. They'll have towrok hard to redeem him again. Locke has always been my favorite character though. Joe | |

| Locke is one of my favorites too. Lost wouldn't be the same without him. He is complex, intriguing and real. Besides that, he is a great actor! Love his expressions. |

| Member | Locke is a fasinating character and Lost wouldn't be the same without him. I could do without his lies and manipulations, though. |
