| Jack's tattoo is very similar to the Lebanese Phlangist's Army symbol. I was told it's the symbol but with additional markings. Based on the conversation between Jack and Sawyer on the last show Jack has done some traveling. I'm wondering if he was a doctor in the U. S. military and served somewhere in the Middle East for awhile. This could be a bridge between him and Sayid. Maybe Jack is American Lebanese, had family there, and some loyalty to help the Lebanese or maybe he was just stationed there at one time and believed in their cause. I don't really have an answer but thought the tattoo was worth mentioning. |

| well you are right has done some travelling when he was playing card with sawyer jack was talking about phuket aqnd sawyer said ''oh thailand'' and jack looked amazed and saywer basically said im not a doctor but i do geography or something along the lines of that. or it could be jack just fancied getting a tattto while he was in thailand and im presuming the tatoo was done in the east because of the writing underneath is either chineese or something.... |

| Senior Member | that's matthew fox's real life tattoo, but i know that they were going to try to make a story to it, and the 5 thing was already there too, which was cool because of how in the pilot he explained his 5 second thing |

| Member | Competition between the two Charlie fanatics, this should be interesting. But about Jack, I don't think he was in the military (although he has a really good shot) because he was asking Ana Lucia questions about how long it would take to build an army and etc. If he were in the military he would probably know that stuff already.

| i think jack has some kind of experience in the military like maybe a doctor at a military base or even field doctor....but he was a an excellent shot when him and kate were tied in that trap better than kate who said she had been hunting and tracking so i mean...... |

| Jack's past may tie into the military service. We don't know what happened to him after his wife left him. Maybe he joined the military as a doctor. He did hit the rope on his first aim so he got some training somewhere. His Lebanese tatoo could tie into the Middle East. Sam Toomey is a Lebanese name and he was Leonard's friend. We don't know what Sam or Leonard did in the service. Were they doctors, psychologists, or soldiers. Perhaps Sam and Leonard found out something they shouldn't have. Maybe Jack treated them or even treated Syaid after he was captured. Perhaps Jack helped Nadia escape. This could tie them together in the Middle East. It's interesting. |
