When the insanely thrilling Lost finale aired last week, I was surprised that there weren't an abundance of major deaths on the island. Keamy got what was coming to him, Michael sacrificed himself, and Locke ended up in the coffin, but everyone else who wasn't a red shirt still had a shot at survival. I'm definitely not complaining about the lack of casualties, but it was unexpected considering the myriad of dangers on the island. However, not every character who made it through the finale will be returning for season 5 of the series. Though new Lost episodes are still many months away, Kristin at E! Online already has some spoilers regarding who will and won't be returning next year. Read on if you want to know more about the fates of two of Lost's most important characters. SPOILER WARNING!!! GO NO FURTHER IF YOU HATE SPOILERS!!! To read the rest, click here.

I have major questions about what season 5 will look like. Based on logic, since so many major characters are off the island, most of the action would presumably take place there. There will likely be a few episodes devoted to Locke, Sawyer, Juliet, Miles and Charlotte, but since they're the only five on the island (assuming Daniel and Jin aren't there too), I would think we'll be seeing a whole lot less of the island next year.

That's what has me so excited for season 5: I simply have no idea what to expect from a story structure perspective. I love that the writers have felt free to change things up so much after the big flash-forward reveal.

I'm sad Claire won't be around much, but she was more or less a background character for a long time so I'm not sure if her absence will be terribly noticeable. I too am super excited to see how they handle the next year with so many people off the island. That's the great thing about Lost--you never know what to expect.

YAAAAAY JIN! Ha, now I can tell my friend I was right about Jin surviving - he was adamant about Jin being dead. But I'm ok with waiting to find out about Claire - I've learned to adjust to Lost, hehe.

I just hope they keep interesting characters like Desmond, Hurley, and Sayid in the spotlight.
