Penny = Annie

I'm thinking if there is any character who could be Annie under a different name it is Penny. That would be the most interesting. I HATE this Charlotte is Annie obsession everyone is on right now! She is not ANNIE!!!!!

Penny is the right age, right appearance etc. And I'm sure Widmore has been on the island. The weird thing about this theory is that Ben knows everything about everyone, he would know what happened to her if she really mattered. What about Desmond? Why have Ben and Desmond never been in the same place together?

Juliette also resembles someone from his past remember....Penny????!!!!

Des, I agree. If Charlotte is Annie, then Annie was like, the dumbest 10 year old ever haha. How do you live somewhere for that long and not remember a thing?

the annie/charlotte thing is way off.......or is it? ( i think she may be related somehow to charles and penny). i'm convinced charles widmore was on the island with his daughter annie (penny) and when he moved the island he took her with him. i'm not sure ben has seen her since they were children....ben may have not even known who she really was. so recognition wouldn't be a problem.....and if ben knew all about all he would know exactly where annie was....right? charles widmore has just as many resources to hide her as ben has to find her.

........penny didn't know until charlie told her..........???????
........which makes me wonder what was her listening station was listening for.............

Uh oh, looks like someone is ready to join Talontbo's Evil-Penny Club haha.

I have entertained the idea that Widmore has other children we do not know about. Charlotte Lewis was my first thought...she has red hair like Penny and her name is the female diminutive of Charles. Plus, Charlotte says she was born on the Island but doesn't remember anything...perhaps she was born just before Widmore left the Island. Maybe she doesn't know who her real father is, foster parents perhaps? With all the daddy issues on Lost, I could see that playing out somehow.

I'm not sure that Annie was ever meant to be important though. To me, her role on the show was to be Ben's invisible love interest...not a key player but just to show that Ben is human. On a more plot-moving point, Ben having a love interest, and her dying because of getting pregnant, seems like a logical role for the character of Annie to play. I don't think her importance was more than that...to show that Ben is human and to provide a potential explanation for Ben's obsession with fixing the childbirth problem on the Island.
