| Moderator ![]() | Put it in spoiler font for those who just don't want to know. Someone transcribed it...here's what they had: "I have a daughter in Alabama, you need to find her...tell her I'm sorry." Makes it interesting to think this was Kate's "task" for the 2 years after being rescued. Wonder if she recognized the mom ??? Speaking of - here's what Kate's reverse speaking phone call was about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hnob_...eature=related |

| Member | I kinda suspected it was something along those lines. Sawyer's really been stepping up lately. I have to say, I didn't like him much before, but Jack's becoming more and more of a jerk while Sawyer's really shaping up to be the on-island go-to man for the next season. I kinda like it.

| not sure I would believe that at all... Sawyers last words to Kate.. were something like... Do it for Alex or Alice.. I didn't quite catch it... need to go back and re-watch to be sure... so it is more island related if its Alex... unless Sawyer was just trying to appeal to Kate's heart... but correct if I am wrong here.. when does Kate even find out Alex is dead??? or Carl or Rousseau..??? i can't seem to remember Sawyer or Miles telling her when Jack and Kate run into them in the jungle... So I am a bit miffed here.... any input???? ok.. went back with closed captions... he ends it with.. "Just do it Freckles" but if he is asking Kate to do a favor after kate gets off the Island.. then why does... Sawyer ask Juliette.. who is sitting on the beach getting smashed...on Rum... "Is that OUR boat" is Sawyer was so sure he wasn't leaving.. this is a very odd thing to say.. if the only reason he jumped from the chopper was to insure the chopper got to the ship and was repaired.. Then he fully expected it to return.. and to get off the island.. I do not think what he says to Kate has anything to do with his Daughter.... and if it does... then the exchange with Juliette was simply a writers ploy to throw us off.... and this seems quite strange... because Sawyer set up the trust fund for Clementine.. he knows she is well cared for... and he... by all accounts will not be part of her life... he accepted this... just seems odd..... "Is that our boat"... Juliette... "it was".... now is the time Sawyer would be thinking... Oh No... chopper... no gas... ship...gone.. I am really stuck here... unless he believed he wouldn't survive the jump or the swim... and I really doubt Sawyer is the type of person to even consider that.... |

| I think that the OP's translation is probably correct. As to why Sawyer said that to Kate, it was just a "just in case I don't make it" thing, He was, after all, jumping into the ocean and he knows how things tend to go on the Island. Besides that, he originally wanted to stay, so perhaps he was also thinking that if the threat disappeared, then he would voluntarily stay. |

| Moderator ![]() | Also - remember now - Sawyer was drinking the Locke Kool-Aid...fully believing the Freighter people weren't there to help AND he just got done getting shot at by a crew from that Freighter. I think he was hoping Kate would find her way back to, well, somewhere and start running again...but since he was either about to jump into a Dharma shark's belly or just stay behind to give them a chance he wanted to know or believe that someone would find his daughter and explain who he really was and what his true motivations are. And as far as "Our Boat" goes ... it's a throwaway comment from the only guy on the island who treats everything like he owns it. So, of course, it's "our boat". |

| well I can't argue the basic logic.. and yet it was a strange choice of words, even from Sawyer.. not to mention.,. Sawyer would have to know Kate was more than likely going to prison for a very very long time.. the moment she is rescued its Jail Time..I understand Sawyer isn;t the brightest bulb in the lamp.. but come on... ask yourselves that same question.. if you really wanted to pass a message along... know you were probably not going to make it.. would you pick the one person you know is most likely getting arrested the moment she is back??? |

| Moderator ![]() | Good point ... did Kate ever explain HOW she thinks going back is the best idea for her? I think Sawyer would have been better off asking Hurley or, hell - best bet, Sayid |
