Charlotte = Annie

Last night's episode was awesome. I was blown away when Charlotte said that she was trying to find where she was born. I instantly thought of Annie. What if Charlotte is Annie, but she was taken off the island sometime as a young girl. We never see her after she gives Ben his birthday gift when they are young. They could have changed her name, etc.

don't you think Ben would have known???? and been a bit nicer.??? after all... she was his only friend.. and made him birthday doll he has kept his whole life???? and shes is to young..

I think she was a Dharma Love Child... and left the island with mommy and daddy before the purge... for whatever reasons..

but it has been discussed... Faraday has probably been on the island.. or at the very least.. had information passed to him in order to do his Rat Experiments..

Charlotte as picked by Widmore... why would he need a Anthropologist??? he wouldn't// but having someone on the team that was Born on island??? someone intent of getting back... someone he may already know has an island connection... that seems to make some sense....

And it would totally suck now because Ben can't go back to the island now, so it seems.

I honestly think Ben was being somewhat less than sincere about not being able to return to the island. It wouldn't be the first time he's pulled someone's leg, and we have more than a little evidence to support his having left and returned to the island previously. Just because he turned some wheel in his power animal's cave (slide!) isn't reason enough for me to believe that he simply can't go back. Ben is a liar and a manipulator of the highest order. The sooner we come to terms with this, the better.

Besides, at the end of the episode he told Jack that "we" have to go back. Not "you."

i don't think it's so much that he can't return as that he can't find the island....
think about it - a direct consequence of moving that island is that he gets teleported off the island....and the other (perhaps more obvious) consequence is that the island has now moved, so it cannot be found by the person who moved it.

I kinda thought it was Annie too, because it wasn't exactly explained if she was killed in the purge, or if she was even there when the purge happened.

Interesting theory. Not sure about the ages. Ben seems older, but it's not such a difference that I wouldn't buy it if it were true.

As for Ben coming back...........I gave up trying to figure out when Ben was lying a long time ago

Maybe he wasn't supposed to go back, but now that Locke is dead, he has to pick up the mantle again.

for me, charlotte=annie doesn't smell right.
we've seen annie on island when she was, what, 10?
she would certainly have remembered being born/growing up on island.
charlotte, if she were annie, would have no need to "find where she was born" (or whatever it was she said).

I have to agree with rivum. It's a little too tidy for us to be figuring Charlotte out just yet. I suspect that we don't have enough pieces of that particular puzzle just yet.
