| [ And I agree that Jack is the leader that the Island seeks...maybe John was a decoy or maybe they thought he was the one, but he really isn't.
Jack is the sacrifice that the island demands. Aaron is the leader it is awaiting.

| Loved the episode. Lots of action and I thought they did a pretty good job of keeping the commercials to a minimum. John Locke in the coffin totally threw me. So, now, I have to ask, what did John do later that the island is willing to allow him to die? Ben outside the funeral home waiting for Jack? That was pretty creepy too. And then his offer of help? I'm wondering if it isn't a new plan. Maybe Ben can use them all to get himself back to the island as well. After all, when has Ben ever been completely honest? The frozen wheel was great. And the heiroglyphic-type writing on the pillars was pretty neat too. I'm guessing it's tied to the 4 toed statue and hopefully we'll start getting some more information about whatever civilization was on the island before. I've noticed that over the last few episodes Christian Shepherd no longer appears in his suit and white tennis shoes. In fact, he seems to be dressing more and more like the Others. overall, good ending to a short season, i thought. |

| Did anyone else notice how HUGE Walt is getting??? My husband, who likes Lost, but is not a Lost Junkie like I am, wouldn't believe me when I said that it was the original Walt (frankly, I put on a good front, but wasn't entirely sure) until I showed him the credits list. That boy got crazy tall! |

| Senior Member | Lostgirl, I think that the reason Katw is SO against Locke, aside from all the crazy Island stuff, probably has something to do with Aaron. Maybe he threw a "you're not his mother it's not your decision to make" line at her or something when he's trying to convince them that they need to get back. That is one way I could see of making Kate turn on him for good, she clearl loves that child as her own by now. Claire's dream confused me the most. She was told she was supposed to raise Aaron or terrible things would happen, and the psychic that told her that ended up causing her to be on 815. So WHY does Claire tell Kate that she can't bring Aaron back to the Island? I would guess that either we underestimated Richard Malkin all along. We know that there are forces of good and evil working in the real world to influence the paths to the Island (Alpert, Abaddon, maybe even Widmore). Well, what if Malkin was one of these? What if, instead of knowing that Claire's goodness was needed to raise Aaron, Malkin knew that Aaron would be some key to whatever is going on there? Maybe he never was acting in Claire's or Aaron's best interest. OR I guess the "Claire" in Kate's dream could have been a trick, a way of scaring Kate into keeping Aaron away and thus allowing the bad guys to win on the Island. I don't know which, but either way something is very off here. Finally, I definitely think that Jack and Aaron are crucial and must go back to the Island. It is no coincidence then, to me at least, that they are blood relatives. This is starting to get quite Biblical...Christian Shepherd in Jacob's cabin, with long lost daughter Claire, sister of Jack and mother of Aaron. They are starting to sound like quite the First Family of the Island, aren't they? NOt sure how the pieces will fit, but now I really believe that Christian is a native...well maybe not a Native but he has been on the Island befor his corpse...um...woke up there haha. |
