Default Lost Episode 4.12 "There's No Place Like Home, Part 1" General Thoughts

WTF??? No "Live thoughts" thread to convert??? No discussion whatsoever??? My computer must be broken or something.

Quick thoughts before I go to bed...how in the world are the various people that make up The Oceanic 6 going to come together?

So the freighter is going to blow up?? Desmond had better not actually die...

What exactly does The Orchid do, move people/things through time or create a duplicate? That has never quite been sussed out from the Orchid video...

How will moving the island work if it moves Keamy and Co. too? Is it only to protect the island in the future or will it help now?

Clearly Keamy has "do not kill orders" for Ben...why?

I was really angry and even yelled B.S. when they said that they are going to pretend that Aaron is Kate's. That reporter that asked the question will be back. I wonder who are the 2 who they are saying survived and then later died...I was certain Claire would be one in order to explain the baby. If that is not the case, then why even make the claim that 2 others survived but later died?

I agree, apparently it takes 24hrs or so after each episode lately to get a forum thread going! WTF!

This episode confused me deeply. I plan to re-watch it tomorrow. I have a suspicion that the Orchid station is going to explain how the 6 get off the island and how Keamy's team ends up. But right now I'm too tired to think about it and too confused to form thoughts.

If they say to the press that the baby is Kate's, then Claire does't need to be among the survivors!

sure did take the friggin misfit Templars long enough to show up.. and what happens... they take Kate and Sayid.. helpful that was....

I think that reporter had it right... Now B--CH!! but I don't think there is a lot of pursuit... we see Kate... approx 2.5 yrs later.. finally walking of jail a free woman.. not a lot of use for the scoope then...

No question.. Ben is Protected.. Widmore wants to do it personally... and yet we already know.. that doesn't happen right away...if at all..

Locke... told to move the Island.... and hasn't a clue how???? how stupid is this...Jacob.. through Christian.. says.. "Hey John, Move the Island" Locke asks.."How do I do it".. Christian..."Ask Ben.. he knows"...Are you kidding me???? what a crock of poor writing that appears to be.....

Kate at the airport.. sad scene.. and still I wonder.. where was wheel chair bound sick mommy??? who, 2.5 yrs from now is strong enough to confront Kate in the court house about meeting who she thinks is her grandchild??? perhaps she is actually healthier 2.5 yrs from Rescue Arrival date... whatever... sad moment.. did not like that...

Sayid.. Nadia.. knowing what we know... also sad to see... for Nadia.. for Sayid... and for us.. but here, I thought it was very well conceived and believable.. a heartmelting moment to be sure.. and again knowing what we know... ticks me off to no end that only a short 10 months from now.. Nadia will be dead... I want some pay back to.... I wonder... if Nadia mentions to Sayid.. the incident in the alley with Charlie... surely there has had to have been..a list of names of the victims.. and photos... maybe not... but wouldn't that be cool..... this is where the show should try to get back to the beginning... and start to show some recognition of the crossed paths... and lets face... Charlie was perhaps the most Famous person on the flight.. along with Hurley..and Kate... how could their photos not have been publicized>>???

oh... one last thing I wanted ti pop in here..

Hurley's Camaro's odometer... got to hand it to the thinkers that be... very neat... well done.. made the moment... more so than.. the kid walking through the party with the 42 shirt.. and whats up with all the rabbits feet..??? man oh man.. #15 really is giving for the cause.....

well I just woke.. and need to re-watch... there are some follow up to be posted to Cabin Fever as these last 4ish episodes mesh together tighter than some have recently...

and I have to calm down about waiting 2 damn weeks for the final 2 damn hours....

wonder how many damn commercials we get in the finally???? arrggggggg

It was a boring episode! That's why no one has anything to say!
Sun buying half her dad's company?
STUPID!
Hurley's birthday party?
STUPID!
BOTH BORING!

This Oceanic 6 garbage is all boring!

I understand it, but I couldn't find anything less interesting...

Whatever! Get back to the island...
Show us how they get off the island...Don't spend 2.5 seasons talking about what happens when they get off the island...
BORING!
They're just trying to cover up all their mistakes!

I can't wait to see what happens with Locke and Ben...
That's why I watch this show!

Episodes like last night are the reason people stop watching this show and buzzing on these boards...

Whatever...I know...It's a Part 1 of a season finale. It's setting everything up...
Well, you better find a more interesting way to set this stuff up...
Unless, in 2 weeks, that episode will suck too...

hey GetBentiss

it had a few reasonable moments.. but I have to concur... it was less than stellar... the build up??? maybe... but it did not show a lot of ramping.... kind of flat... and there were some less than great ideas transfered from the writing table to the screen... seems to be a trend lately... couple good episodes.. and a real crapper... but overall... watchable... hour still flew by...because I had to order a product from ever sponsor we were assaulted with every 3.27 minutes..... fully 1/3 of every show is sold out... and they say.. the 2 hour season Finally.... when if fact.. it is 86 minutes...out of 120... and one of the more popular shows on TV... charge more for each minute of commercial.. so you can cut 1 minute out each break... and give us back...5 minutes... this alone has me spitting fire.....

Follow me here...
They said 8 were alive during the crash...THAT WOULD NOT INCLUDE AARON YET...So, there were 3 others they were claiming were alive and died. I think in an earlier episode they said that the pilot was alive for a few hours...

Honestly though, debating who they "are saying" is alive...
Who cares!
We know that's not true...
It really is totally irrelevant..

Post Quick TNPLH Sun Brain Dump For My LOST Therapy - RichPundit

Quick TNPLH Sun brain dump 4my LOST therapy:
  • irritates me that it is not financially credible that Sun could buy a "controlling interest" in Paik Industries with her Oceanic settlement, but alas I'll simply have to accept as a creative pass for the writers to allow Sun to influence Paik's continued deep Island involvement as a LOST mosaic piece
  • as I previously posted, my sense continues to be that Sun is pregnant via Michael which will result in a very, very "Special" Bay-bah

After the last episode and where we left off, this was a HUGE let down for me. There were a few saving graces:

1) It is settled. Jack DOES know Claire is his sister, and Aaron is his nephew, because Mrs. Littleton tells him so. We know this for sure now.

2) Hurley's Camaro. The numbers being in the odometer like that make me think that someone else may have been right when they said that the numbers were a tool to get Hurley to the Island. Now they are ttrying to bring him back. Me thinks this is the beginning of Hugo losing his mind.

3) Ben ALWAYS has a plan. That statement, along with the INSANE amount of detail in his instructions to Locke, are really making me feel smug haha. I now think FOR SURE that there is a time loop of sorts, that Ben and Widmore are tangled in a game of course correction. Ben always has a plan, because he has been through it before, each time getting closer to success.

4) Sun. There are some things that struck me as...off...about Sun. First, if we are about 2 months after they got off the Island, her baby bump just did not look right to me. I can't put my finger on it yet, but something is off. Also, the way she spoke to her father...totally uncharacteristic. Now I can see her being angry with daddy, but really, for her to go to that length to make him miserable is extreme. I think something more is here. Also, with Sun now having a controlling interest in Paik, maybe we will start to see some confidential documents that may shed some light on Dharma and the Island.

5) Richard! He is back! But why why why why why was he following Sayid and Kate? Why did he take them, is he taking them to the Temple? WHY??? This should be the biggest question of last night's episode (aside from the obvious of WTF is the Orchid and what does it do and how?) since we now see two people who we KNOW are about to be rescued, trudging through the jungle with the Natives. Are the Natives going to save the O6, NOT the Freighter people?

6) Scattered O6. Kate and Sayid: in the jungle with Richard and Others...destination unknown. Jack: in the jungle with Sawyer. Sun and Aaron: on the Freighter with Desmond, Jin, and Michael, fearing a bomb. Hurley: Orchid station with Locke and Ben. So, HOW are these the Oceanic 6? Is something going to happen that will bring them all together, or are we now supposed to realize that the rescued WERE chosen? If they are in all different places, some with others who don't get off, why are they a group? Will they be picked out to be saved...or come together?

7) the Orchid WILL be used to move the Island. VINDICATION! haha. I;m not going to say told ya so yet, since we don't have enough info, but I am definitely feeling the sug creeping up on me.

I agree that it is not financially credible. That said, the writer's don't make oversights quite like that. We know that Paik Industries is SOMEHOW connected to all of this. Like I said above, Sun owning a controlling share could be vital to uncovering secrets and getting back to the Island. SO, is it possible that Mr. Linus is working with more than one O6er, and gave Sun a little loan to buy daddy's company and help out her friends?
