| Is Abadon good or bad? I assume bad. But, why does he have what seem to be the same powers as Alpert? And he seems to be doing the same thing... But is it for a different side? GOOD vs EVIL? Was Abadon a fallen angel? Was he part of "the island" and defected? But, why does Abadon want Locke to get to the island? Is it because Locke is what destroys the island? Or, potentially... Locke has the power of choice/free will... Depending on his decisions, he'll save or destroy it... Alpert was angry with young Locke when he chose the knife...Did Abadon know that and that's why he's pushing to get him there? I obviously have no clue...With where we're at now, Jacob is communicating through Christian and Claire... It looks like Locke is a good guy... What's up with Claire?! My head is spinning...This was the best episode I've seen in a while...It looks like they finally have a direction...

| Head spinning?? Mine was BLOWN OFF last night, I really don't know what to think about the whole Claire/Christian thing, I honestly got that claire was a smidge (yes I just said smidge) evil, did anyone else grab that by the look on her face I was VERY happy to see Nestor Campbell on LOST again, I think we are finally heading in a DEFINITE direction, and the whole candy bar Hurley/Linus situation was HILARIOUS, i was seriously waiting for the "LOST" logo to come up and that be the end of the epi, that would be funny, but slightly dissapointing |

| hard to say what is up with Abaddon.. is earliest time scene was with Locke, in the hospital.. not long after Locke is paralyzed... not that far back... Sure not the 1950's, as we have seen Richard now... without aging... so.. having the same powers as Richard... unconfirmed... yet an interesting thought.. an Anti-Richard... not sure I buy it.. but neat thought just the same... it appears as though Abaddon directs Locke to Australia to get him...not is a Walk About... but on the illfated return flight... 815... as if he somehow knew... Now Abaddon... tells Naomi... there were no survivors of 815... how strange... especially for a man that is... "More than just an orderly" |

| Senior Member | I think I finally understand the board game theme. Alpert and Abaddon are black and white, good and evil, and they are moving their pawns. We have seen them both interfering in the lives of our Losties, before and after the crash. They seem to both be trying to push the Losties on certain paths, in certain directions. Alpert was obviously interested in Locke since birth. He tries to get him into a special school, to begin his training as Ben and Walt would later be trained, but Locke's choice of the knife turned his away. Locke was not who he thought he was. Once again later, with the Mittelos camp Alpert is reaching out to Locke, giving him a chance to be on his team, but Locke rejects his destiny to be accepted and liked.**(As an aside, I'm starting to wonder if THIS is the importance of who raises children...Locke was not raised by his real mother, and because of this is not turning out to be the person he was supposed to be)** Abaddon realizes this, that Alpert has lost on of his recruits. With his walkabout comment to Locke, he planted the seed that would make Locke go to Australia and end up on Flight 815. We now know that Abaddon basically causes Locke to be on the Island, if only through the power of suggestion. Alpert, we know, has his players as well. He got Juliette to the Island. I would say Alpert also had a part in getting Ben to the Island. |

| I loved the whole Alpert/Abbadon thing. Based on Abbadon's name allusion, we know that he's probably not a good guy. After he said that John would Owe him one, I started thinking that maybe he's Jacob. Glad Alpert's back, though. I love him. |

| Posted this on another thread before seeing this one: I see an Alpert/Ben alliance fighting a Abbadon/Widmore alliance. Both are vying for control of the island - quite possibly for their own motives. I think Abbadon and Alpert were on the Black Rock when it crashed on the island, possibly Widmore as well. Maybe Alpert led a mutiny, with his men becoming the Hostiles while Widmore fled with Abbadon and now are looking for their way back. Seems like Alpert and Abbadon are vying for the same "special" people - people who can commune/find/control the island. Alpert gave up on Locke, but Abbadon didn't and struck a deal, so to speak, later on. Question is: does Abbadon calls his chit or get Locke to act as an unwitting Widmore mole in the future, especially now that Locke has been to the cabin. We know that people can mess with Locke's head. He's the perfect candidate for Widmore. FWIW - I think the island itself is an actor in this deal. It wants to keep itself protected and will act (ie, preventing Ben's people from getting pregnant and multiplying) when necessary to maintain a balance between the two sides fighting over it. |

| My take---Abbadon is bad. He wants the stuff to start flying. It's creepy when he says, "Next time you see me, you'll owe me one." Who on Earth guarantees a debt before it has even happened. Claire...I don't know what to make if her appearance. I don't think she's dead, but I'm thoroughly confused. Alpert---I think he works for the Island's best interests. He was part of the Natives who instituted the "purge" that wiped out Dharma, which was attempting to exploit the Island. |

| Alpert and Abbadon are definitley intriguing characters. They seem to be two players on opposing sides, and if i had to say whos the bad guy, id agree with Mugatu. Abadon is creepy as hell, and like forceps40 brought up about about the name connection, it seems pretty obvious he is the bad guy. But i dont know, Alpert was creepin me out too. Claire's situation........wtf? I have no idea whats up with her but i am getting the feeling that she is dead or will die very soon

| Senior Member | The kind of guy, who like Alpert, already knows what is supposed to happen and is just ensuring that it does. Even more, judging by the "failed" test that Alpert gave Locke, I think it is clear that Abaddon will call in that debt in a way that is not so good for the Island. OR...since Locke "failed" the test, was Locke's listening to Abaddon, taking the walkabout, and ending up on the Island his payback? Is Locke helping Abaddon just by being ON the Island? Either way, he is creeeeepy. |
