The 80-mile travel for the Dr.'s body is IMO explained by a wormhole/time-distance warp...there's no way his body traveled 80 miles w/out getting more destroyed. This leads me to believe that there's some sort of distance distortion going on, and that the boat isn't actually 80mi offshore. The time difference is obvious now as well
Hey guys...
I don't know if you know this, but LOST is a television show.
Sure, they could have been more realistic, but what would the point be.
They wanted us to know that it was the doc.
That's all that matters...
In classic LOST idiot fashoin, you're looking way too deeply into this...

IT'S A FRICKIN' TV SHOW!

Usually I bask in the greatness of all of you really intelligent theorists. I throw tidbits in but heck if I know if I will ever be right. BUT I CALLED IT! I was so pumped - I said it would be Christian speaking on behalf of the Island and it was! I feel like Bart with pot on my head singing "I am so smart S M R T" (ha ha). Richard Alpert is definitely Black Rock. No doubt about it. And time travelling, yessir! I love how Ben handed the Island off to Locke. WOW! And I KNEW the Captain was a good guy! And now he's dead. I see how the 6 get saved now. NOT chopper - raft. Desmond is still on that ship!!!

The only thing this episode didn't have was Jacob. Now that Ben has given Locke the leadership role the island, can we assume that Ben is following Locke's commands in the future snippets we've seen of him? Or is future Ben less concerned with the island and now solely focused on extracting revenge from Widmore? The walkabout scene was a touch of genius. Also, it appears that Abbaddon is one of the original "hostiles," like Richard Alpert. Certainly, both spend much of their off-island time on recruiting new island-comers. Can we assume a dramatic moment when Locke once again meets with Abbaddon and calls in his "you'll owe me one" favor?

I have questions that need answers or at least a wild ass guess at. Why would Desmund tell Charlie that he see 's Clarie and the baby get on the helicopter to be rescued if Charlie dies? Was Desmund not telling the truth? At the end of season 2 Sayid, Jin, and Sun are on the sali boat trying to get ahead of the others they see a statue of a LARGE four toe foot, anybody wonder what is up with that? Why did Locke see Walt on the island after he was shot?
Don't get me wrong I love the show and watch episodes over and over again, but for me last nights "Cabin Fever" left me with more questions.

GIVE MICHAEL EMERSON AN EMMY!!!!!

Anyway, my thoughts:

1) Time warp is confirmed for me. Corpse washing up before man is killed = rock solid proof.

2) Destiny vs. free will: Destiny wins. We hear a ton about people's paths, fates, and destinies in this episode. Perhaps most significantly, after Hurley stays we get Ben saying something like, "It's so cute that he thinks it was his decision." SOOOOO...is this because everyone has a destiny that cannot be changed, or because this has all already happened and the past only changes when interfered with, or does Ben have some sort of mind control power. I add this last suggestion simply for that fact that at the end when Ben and Hurley are outside the cabin waiting, and Ben gives his candy bar the stare down and he hands over more than half of it to Ben, i was immediately like "Mind control. Hurley would not give Ben his candy." hahaha.

3) Special kids. It's becoming clear that once you are chosen to be on the Island, they will send recruiters to bring you there. Special schools, science camps, fancy jobs at Mittelos, whatever it takes to get you there. So, was 815 brought down just to get Walt, or Aaron, to the Island? Or, was it FINALLY getting Locke?

4) Emily. I think she is Locke AND Ben's mother for sure now. She got pregnant with Locke young, was forced by her craptastic mom to give him up for adoption, and years later when she got over it and moved on little Ben happened and she died. I think it is significant that she was hit by a car, saw the white light which to me = near death experience, and then has a little Locke who has visions of the Island (see his drawing of Smokey). I have posted before about Charlotte Malkin, the daughter of Claire's psychic who also had a near death experience and claimed to have traveled to a strange Island while she was gone. Horace and Christian show you that dead people aren't quite dead on the Island. What if she "died" then but came back, gave birth to Locke who had memories of the Island through her? If she is Ben's mom, would he have some sort of knowledge of the Island as well. Does this explain his intrinsic connection with the Island? Also, does this explain why dead Emily and paintings of her exist on the island, though she died before her husband and son went there?

5) Hurley is a psychic, a seer, a prophet of some sorts. He knows more than he realizes he knows. There are so many time when his goofy little remarks end up being true in weird ways, but last night it really got me when he said to Ben, "This is where you shot Locke and left him for dead?" and Ben said, "Yes. In that exact spot" and looks a little creeped. I really think Hurley has some psychic ability, and probably has his whole life, which is another reason he believes he is crazy.

6) Widmore has some special ability. Whether he is a time jumper like Ben, and I think he is because I think he's Jacob, or just has some sort of psychic ability, I think it was confirmed last night, His Plan B protocol or whatever, was based on events that hadn't happened yet. When Keamy is questioned on how Widmore could have planned ahead like that, his answer of "He is a very smart man" was obviously a fake answer haha. It seems to me that Ben and Widmore are locked in some sort of competition where they are using knowledge of the future to try to win in the present, and whoever does it better will win.

There is probably more because last night's episode was freaking awesome but that's what I remember right now.

Wow, pretty good episode. I just have so many thoughts spinning in my head right now. I got the reincarnation vibe, too, however those items could be things that belong to John in the future and not in the past. It'll be interesting to see where they are taking that. Moving the island--through time or space? My guess would be time, but maybe its both. Last but not least--Who the heck is Abaddon?!? This episode makes him seem to be on the same plane as Richard, but he works for Widmore? Maybe he sided with Widmore in the great Ben v. Widmore split on the island? He's so creepy and I just gotta know his hidden agenda!
