Seriously, Desmond can't die. Without Charlie he is the default sexy-accent guy, and the coolest character since they killed Eko.

They really fooled us with Eko...I absolutely love the extremely long names guy who played Eko. He was FANTASTIC in Oz as Adebisi. I, along with others, really hoped that he would stick around but he was never going to in the first place. People thought it was the curse of the DUI, but he had only planned to be on for one season from the very start. The guy is just beautiful and so smart--he has a law degree and speaks Italian, Yoruba, Swahili, and (of course) English. He can "get along" in a few other languages, including French. Here are a couple of really cool quotes from him about his time on "Lost"...

Desmond is the best character on LOST. I don't care if he wasn't on the plane he is crucial to the story, just like Ben and Juliette and Daniel.

The only characters that come anywhere close to him are Sun and Jin (in flashbacks) and Jack.

I agree, Des is crucial to the story.

If I had to list the characters in order of importance to the overall story/mythology of the show, here's what I'd have to say...

1) Desmond
2) Ben
3) Jack
4) Locke
5) Vincent ---don't laugh! I think he's MUCH more important to the show than we give him credit for. In fact I'm not even sure that the "dog" we believe is Vincent is actually Vincent. More on that later.
6) Rousseau

At least, that's what I think right now

Kill off Desmond?!!! He has one of the best story lines on the show. The time jumping is a nice twist to an already enigmatic show. Plus I think he`s a good actor. More believable than most of the B,C, and D list celebrities on there. JMO.
