hey Pitchy...

okay the next line is not Business Development... it is...

Business Developing

so far.. best I can do..

Side 측 or Axis 축
Mutual Alliance 상호 연립
Business Developing 사업 발전
Good Market 호 장

I seem to be getting some odd results.. for the last 2 characters...

I get..호 장

Hu Market
or
Japanese Knotweed...... go figure.... or if you space between those character you get..

Good market... this makes more sense.... I think????

this is now complete as best I can tell.. I used a complier to actually build the Korean characters.. then inserted into a translator...

It appears to be soft ultimatum... ????

anyway.. going to redo the middle to lines and see if the change... will keep you posted...

does anyone know Mr. Paik first name>>>> ????

if anyone wishes to duplicate or attempt to duplicate this.... please try the following link...

http://www.stars21.com/

at the bottom of that page you will see image of key boards... select Korean.. and a small application will pop up... it has the input for the Korean alphabet... you can compile the characters as groups.... and as strings... it is easier to start with the top symbol.... copy the Korean and past to a translator... or you can go directly to a translator and type in the words I have proved.. and compare the characters to the inscription on the back of the Rolex..... the last option would be far easier....

Or she was hit from the front, as she obviously was, and there is no exit wound because it WASN'T a bullet. Seriously, hasn't anyone seen Indiana Jones? If those little whizzing noises weren't darts from a blowgun I'll...do nothing. But really, they are totally little darts. The freighter skeet shooting scene is a red herring. The freighter folk have no reason to be waiting all ambush like on a trail in the middle of nowhere. The Others are protecting the Temple from anyone that isn't supposed to be there. If that water bottle got shot by a high powered rifle it would have exploded, not have a little puncture hole. Beware of Richard and his pea shooter of little poison darts.

The whirring noise of the shots were bullets IMO, not darts at all. They were traveling WAY too fast. And darts tend to stick in, not make perfect circle holes. I'm a believer they were silenced rifle rounds as well, they sounded just like them and the wounds/holes look like them.

Pitchy

At some point there was a shot of television with a scene that looked like a game show or concert. Can you get a screen cap of that?

Is Michael's mother the same woman from the ghost buster scene?

Desi, already had that one, but didn't deem it interesting enough to put in the original post... but here ya go

As for the whole bullets vs. dart thing, I am going with silencer on MP5's.

I highly doubt a dart would pierce the water bottle in such a perfect and large circle. MP5's aren't long range weapons, so you have to be at a pretty close distance for them to be effective. They are great for urban combat, when you are in close proximity to your target. This is why a lot of SWAT teams use them when storming buildings. Navy SEALS use them for the same situation. At a distance, it wouldn't be a one shot kill... I think Carl is a goner, but I have hope for Danielle. He wasn't a very important character, no interesting back story, nothing really intriguing about him. Danielle on the other hand, very interesting, great back story, and she has managed to survive on her own for 16 years. I think the island probably looks out for her.

The interesting thing was how she sort of lets Ben still play a parental role as if he was her biological father.

this struck me as odd, too. i really wonder if ben is, in fact, alex's biological father.
this episode, in particular, really had me wondering. danielle's face as ben is telling alex to get away, don't let them know she is his daughter, etc., is really telling, IMHO. she didn't contradict anything and was in agreement with him. i don't know, i could be wrong, but i'm thinking he is actually her biological father.

So what, Ben and Rousseau hooked up 17 years ago, had the baby, and Ben somehow kept little Alex and Rousseau ended up forever stuck in the jungle with no knowledge of where to find her daughter?

I will admit Rousseau acts strangely around Ben and it's weird Ben and everybody is still content to call Alex his daughter when the real mother has shown up, but having Alex actually be his blood-related daughter is a stretch. I see no family resemblance (physically or in belief systems) and no reason or Rousseau to lie about Alex being her and Robert's daughter.

Nah, I really have no idea. To be honest the only reason I keep saying darts is when I initally saw the scene it NEVER EVEN OCCURRED to me that it was anything other than the Others and some sort of homemade weapons. I think when I say "dart" it is being taken a bit too literally, but in any case I thought they were having projectiles shot at them through a blowgun of sorts. My only reason for this is that the scene IMMEDIATELY reminded me of Indiana Jones, from the noises to the way Alex and all reacted. It just didn's seem like any sort of gunfire to me, but I still haven't rewatched it and I don't know squat about guns so I doubt it will help me anyway.

How much choice does she have? Does it ever serve anyone to go against Ben? Also, she loves her daughter, and if Ben is the most powerful man on the island as he seems to be it makes sense that she would let him protect Alex. Alex seems to be one of Ben's few weaknesses (Juliet and his mother being others) and I think Danielle realizes that.
