hmmm... okay... I think this is arguable from both sides... and both could be correct... ot both wrong..

as for Michael not insane... well... he was seeing Libby... and maybe Ana as well for all we know... and he was very despondent... to the point of killing himself.. guilt? sure.. loss of Walt?? okay... Libby popping in to say Hi from time to time...???

The island won't let him die... so,, is Libby an Island thing, or a bump on the head thing??? personally... I think a bumped noodle... but hey.. what do i know...

I will consider this more... but... I have this sneaking suspicion.. the island has a Bisecting Imaginary Line..... that has a North Exit and a South Exit... Much like the poles on a magnet....

Oh I agree that you could see it either way. I'm just a Ben fan. Everyone always wants to count out the cold, calculating geniuses as evil but I say BAH!

I think it is possible, if not likely given how little we were shown in Meet Kevin Johnson, that the 325 bearing is a safe bearing, but not off the island. It probably leads to another little island or some other place where Ben's people could have arranged a less suspicious way to get Michael and Walt back home. Does anyone really think that they drove from somewhere near Fiji (presumably) to NY in a motorboat? What, did they just pull up on a dock along the Hudson, jump out, and call a cab home? haha. They obviously had to hide who they were, and I'd say some of Ben's people helped them with that.

I think LIbby is an Island thing, not a bumped head. Seeing things off the Island is important somehow.

I like the North Pole/South Pole idea. Not to get too crazy (I've done that enough today) but there are a lot of non-Lost related theories about civilizations INSIDE the earth. The Hollow earth theories vary in a lot of ways, except it is kind of universally agreed that there are entrances at the North and South Poles. Look up Admiral Richard Byrd if you are interested. He was an adventurer who claims to have flown through the ground at the North Pole, and ended up in a magical world called Shamballa inside the Earth. Shamballa looked normal, except there were never clouds in the sky, and it got it's light from a sun inside the earth, making the light appear normal yet strange (Faraday: The light doesn't scatter right). Atlantis is also part of Hollow Earth theory. I always thought it strange that it doesn't seem very difficult to get to or from the Island by air (815, Naomi's helicopter, Frank's helicopter, even the Air balloon), but by boat is appears that things go wrong. Desmond and Danielle both recall waking up on the shore, but not actually crashing there. When Des tries to sail away, he just can't as, if there's nowhere else to go. Maybe they're inside the Earth, and that's why everything is all whacky.

Interesting that you would mention Shamballa... as it was a song by Three Dog Night that was played during the hippie car scene when Hurley, Charlie, Sawyer and Jin were driving around having fun.

Coincidence?

I posted a topic a few weeks ago about a show that was on Discovery called "Earth's Black Holes" and it was about places like the Bermuda Triangle and one of the theories was that places like the Bermuda Triangle are wormholes that travel through the planet to the other side and would put you in a different space time than when you entered. Seemed very Lost like to me even though I don't buy into wormholes / black holes being present on our planet.

Ha, I was actually wondering if they'd ever referenced Shamballa on the show. I thought they had but couldn't remember where.

Absolutely! You're 100% correct, let's think about it...

Ways to "get to" the island...
* Plane crash (815 & Eko's brother's plane)
* Lost at sea on a sailboat
* Shipwrecked (The Black Rock)
* Hot Air balloon
* Submarine

Ways to get "off" the island that we know of...
* Helicopter
* Boat
* Sub

It's absolutely easier to get there than it is to leave. With so many ways to arrive though, there must be more than 1 way to leave...which is why my theory that 2 different headings would work still stands in my mind. Can't wait to find out.

Don't you remember when Sawyer and Kate were breaking rocks and Juliet told them that they were building a runway...
