Ha...I hope the writers learned to never, ever have Michael do that again.

There was a guy in fraternity named Kevin Johnson. He was a little weird.

I think this episode is going to be A LOT more important than just a filler...I think it's going to tell us a lot about Ben and who he is. Michael was one of my favorite back stories from the first two seasons and I loved how he turned the end of season 2. Well, I am a little biased though in the Michael fan department...he was initially one of my favorites.

I have a feeling that Ben knew about the freighter before Michael left the island; as the show really goes very slowly and Michael has only been gone like two months island time. I have a feeling that Michael boarding the freighter was part of the deal from the very beginning.

If thats not it I think Michael is feeling guilt a la Libby, having dreams or visions about her and he thinks rescuing the other survivors will clear his conscience and somehow redeem him in his mind.

John, what do we drink if Michael refers to Walt as "my boy"?

That's what I figured as well...seems like a short amount of time to go all the way home, have some sort of change of heart and come back, doesn't it?

I'm still not convinced that "Kevin Johnson" is Michael. I still could see "Kevin Johnson" really being Walt. It depends how far back or forward in time that Ben sent Michael and Walt. Also, just because Ben sent them back doesn't mean that his people let them go. If "Kevin Johnson" really is Michael, then I would bet that Ben (or Richard Alpert or whoever Ben sent) is holding Walt as a hostage so that Michael would do whatever Ben wants. Ben seems to have the psychopathic (or maybe sociopathic) ability to manipulate people (see, e.g., Sayid) by playing on their attachments to other people.

I agree. I can't see Michael voluntarily leaving Walt behind ever again, even if he is feeling guilty and wants to help rescue the rest of 815. Ben will find some way to use Walt against Michael again to make him become his spy on the freighter. I also don't think the name Kevin Johnson will important, it's a standard generic alias name. The "J" last name would help with my coffin theory though.

Interesting point! What if somehow it ISN'T Michael.....or that he doesn't really KNOW who he is? I am also in for the drinking game - thanks for that! Any excuse will do ......I am betting though that he is back because he can't move forward in life without going back and "undoing" it like I maintain Jack is going to try to do as well. We know that people get close to the Island and are fine and then when they leave they are not. Witness Jack and Hurley's unravelling, not to mention those on the boat. So I think we are going to find out that Michael started to unravel and so HAD to come back to stop the insanity. For lack of better term.
