| OKAY--Lostpedia confirms what I thought I saw--on Jin's grave the death date is given as Sept. 22, 2004 so the story they are giving the media is that Jin died in the crash which kind of screws up the whole pregnancy timeline, doesn't it??? She didn't get pregnant until they had been on the island for quite some time. But if that is the date listed, does that mean Jin is alive and couldn't/wouldn't make it off the island??? What is the story about The Oceanic 35+??? Do they all die in some battle to come? Do they all just want to be left alone??? Could they not get off the island even if they wanted to when the others did due to some problem???? Yes, questions answered but oh so many more questions created! ![]() Edit: Check Out The Editors Article, "Jin's Grave" For More Info

| I'm going to assume the simple answer unless the show completely blows this theory out of the water... It seems simplest to me that someone wants the general public to think that Jim died in the crash, and that he's still on the island. No other reason for that death date to be on the tombstone if he was actually one of the Oceanic 6 and died after getting rescued. Sun misses Jin & cries because he's still stuck on the island. |

| There are some interesting dates on Jin’s tombstone. First, assuming the first dates listed are the birthdays of Sun and... To read the rest, click here. |

| I honestly believe he dies, I don't think he's on the island, battle to come theory sounds about right to me. She would have said somthing, or my homeboy would have, about going back, seems to be a popular theme amoungst the "6" er... atleast 33% of them so far |

| Senior Member | Now that I had the night to process it... I am leaning more towards him being dead. Otherwise, what was the point of the whole conversation with Bernard on the boat? To paraphrase, he alleged that while they're on the Island, they had a free pass from Karma. But once you got off the Island... well. Then you were on your own. And, it doesn't bode well that Jin hasn't had a flashforward... which is why, I think they put the FF and the FB in the same episode. However, I can completely see Jin doing everything he could do to get Sun off the island, even if that meant separating from her. It's an interesting little wrinkle. |

Simple = Jin's dead. The simple question is did he die on or off the island. That being said, Jin's become one of my favorite characters and IMHO has had the best/most realistic character development on the show. I'm holding out hope that he's alive on the island. I picked up right away that no one ever said that he's dead, but it's the kind of thing that the casual viewer might have missed, creating an 'Oh MyGod' moment later. --Fish | |

| Okay! We all get that Sun was a flash forward and Jin a flash back, right? Well, don't assume that Jin is dead... In the final 5 minutes of the episode, it is NEVER said that he is dead...And Sun's final words are, "I MISS YOU." It obviously is made to look like he's dead, but my guess is that toward the end of the series we'll find out he's alive and still on the island...

| Yeah, that is certainly possible. Sun could think he is dead and he isn't. But it would be a bit rediculous if the grave stone is just a marker for Jin who is still on the island and she knows it. As if she would visit a grave stone if she knew he was alive. She would just think about him. If she knows he is still on the island and still visits a grave stone I hope the writers rot in hell. More likely, I think is that Jin will die in the next episode.

| I find it rediculous that Sun would visit his grave if she knows he is still on the island. That is so dumb and the writers are retarded if that turns out to be the case. That being said, the writers are retarded most of the time, so I guess we should be prepared for that. I think more likely that Jin is dead and dies to get Sun off the island. I really hope these two have a big part in the rescue of the Oceanic 6. I'd love to see Sun go all lunatic on the freighter people.

| Moderator ![]() | I agree with you, Bentiss. Sorta. I like the idea of him surviving - possibly under the guise that he knows he needs to get Sun off the island to deliver a baby while he stays behind to "help Ben" or whatever else the island is requiring from those that stay behind. The grave-marker, with the obviously incorrect Death Date, is the only thing out there that Hurley and Sun could go visit as a representation. But - yeah, seems bleak that they would do so instead of Hurley just hanging out in their apartment and them looking at pictures. My question about Hurley's appearance is whether he's now going to recruit Sun (and Ji Yeon) for the trip back to the island...we know children survive there, just can't be born there. |
