| I'm glad that I was not the only one to notice the date on the tomb stone. I think that he is working for Ben just like Syiad or maybe he made a deal with him so that Sun could leave as long as he stayed behind and Ben in turn staged Jin death. Something else that I just thought of...since Sun's dad is so ruthless; maybe they both planned this so that he would think Jin was dead and thus Jin would no longer be obligated to him. Making both of them free to live their lives. I think that when this is revisited we might see Sun's dad or one of his goons in the back ground. |

If she truly believes him to be dead, albeit using the arbitrary date of the plane crash to avoid having to explain more complicated things, then it works. Maybe he was alive when she left the island, but she really doesn't know for sure if he still is, and visit's his grave because he feels dead to her. Maybe he knew he had to get her off the island for their baby and her sake, but she wouldn't go without him (assuming maybe only one could go) so he faked a death to make her leave. I just refuse to belive that Jin is dead, and until I see him get killed, I think there is more going on. I still think he and Sun will end up being the Adam and Eve skeletons, suggesting that he is part of the reason they have to go back. |

| Somehow, I can see Jin's death being faked because of his connections to PAIK. Maybe he's recruited by Ben. Maybe he's recruited to fight Ben. Either way, staying below the radar might help him in his fight, whichever side he's on. Regardless, I think he had to hide his survival from Sun and make her think he is dead. Maybe this sets up a nice sappy reunion at the end of the series. |

| Think that they are hiding Jin because of Sun's dad. If Jin is dead then he is no longer in Mr. Paks' service. Sun and Jin would then be free to live their lives without interference from her dad. |

| Senior Member | I was sort of thinking that Jin might be working for Ben in the same way Sayid is.

| You seem to ignore that time flows differently on the island. Remember what happened when the helicopter left the island? Perhaps several weeks on the island are equivalent to a single day in the real world. |
