for me eggtown was the worst ep in this season. but i think juliet and bens mom look alot like...btw.....the part was played by ME's real wife.

and if the Riley was the island phyciatrest, she would know about bens mother.

Interesting, but...Saying it came from the Black Rock journal is plausible for two reasons: 1) We know Charles Widmore has the journal, and we know he sent the freighter to the Island, and 2) the map is clearly a photocopy of an older, hand drawn map. The style of the drawing looks very old and simplistic to me, and just seems like it would have been done a long time ago.

So, what about the Dharma symbols and the other more modern writing on it? Widmore or the Captain or the 4 freighties who have been exploring the Island could have simply been adding to the map. Someone could have just written on that photo copy, adding more notes to the original crude map of straight topographical features (such as an old explorer would have made).
