Who Are The Oceanic 6--Next Week We Will Know For Sure!

There are a couple of threads discussing various aspects of the Oceanic 6 (who would you go with; who is the dead guy) but no one has really talked about who the 6 are and why they think they went. Assume that "The Oceanic 6" can only be flight 815 Losties...

We know that Jack and Kate get off the island, and we see them make the decision in episode 4.1

We know that Hurley gets off, but why? What makes him change his mind when it seems so made up?

I don't recall seeing Jin and Sun make a choice in 4.1, but I think that they must choose to leave since she is pregnant.

Although Rose and Bernard seem to be leaving, I wonder if they might change their mind, thinking that Rose's cancer will come back if she leaves the island. Also Bernard seems to have grown close to Sayid and Desmond during his mission.

I think that Claire stays to be close to Charlie--but maybe she goes for that exact reason (to get AWAY from his memory) and the media doesn't count Aaron, since he was born on the island...actually, yeah...I think she goes

So my pick for the Oceanic 6 are:
Jack
Kate
Hurley
Jin
Sun
Claire (and Aaron who isn't counted as an Oceanic because he wasn't born yet)


But I am still curious why Hurley changes his mind, and why the hell do all the other 30+ people decide to stay--isn't that a bit funny that none of the people we don't know chose to leave?

I was thinking that it's possible Claire gets off the island per Desmond's vision, but doesn't go to LA since she has probably decided to keep the baby, which means she might end back up in Australia. There she might be known as the Oceanic 1

The scene with Rose and Bernard making their choice was interesting considering Bernard's statement "you said we'd never would leave the island..." Even though Rose said she's not going anywhere with "that man" I still sense that they may stay on the island despite the option of rescue. Rose knows the power of the island as you mentioned her and her cancer... so that's reason enough to stay.

I think Charlie is Hurley's polar opposite of Dave and he feels guilty about leaving everyone behind. Charlie is like the good little angel sitting over your shoulder telling you what's right... Dave is the little devil trying to get you to do bad. So the fact that Dave is gone and Charlie is there telling him he needs to go back because they need his help probably has a lot to do with his change of heart. I say some bad bad stuff goes down between Locke / the others and the boat people and Hurley probably regrets his involvement and maybe feels like he was mislead.

you know the writers are going to throw us threw a loop again, i think suns coming off, an jins gonna get stuck back there

adds more drama for jake to get back to the island, but i dunno

Also I think the oceanic 6 were confirmed somewhere else, but it's considered a spoiler I guess...Jack, Hurley, Sun, Jin, Sayid annnd... I forget who the 6th was but it's probably Kate (unless she's not because she's on the run from the law still)

My predictions are:

Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sun, Claire (Aaron--doesn't count) and Juliette.

(i'm going with my fun twist that Juliette will disquise herself as Libby and return as one of the survivors! It would rock. That would then lead to learning about Libby's backstory!!!!)

I think Sawyer, Rose, Bernand, Desmond, Jin, Sayid, ---and probably Juliette will be stuck on the island.

We know for certain that Jack, Hurley and KATE got off, so maybe that (combined with the ones you list as confirmed in the spoiler) are the 6

im with ya on that, maybe 6 of the ocean815 go off the island, but some of the people on the island will also come with them...

im thinking ben will be captured an brought off the island, so (onland) dharma can get their revenge

jack,kate and hurley we know about. Jin as sun will probably die in child birth and nothing for him to stay for. Juliette as she will follow jack and sawyer because i reckon hes in the coffin lol
