Annie be Russeau? That would be interesting. However, I think she was telling the truth as in she was shipwrecked, and then The Others killed her team off after taking her baby (Alex).

Annie couldn't be Rousseau because Rousseau speaks with a pretty thick French accent.

I agree with Kimmie. I think Danielle told the truth on that one. I think that she had Alex on island like Claire but that the baby was taken because she was by herself were as Claire has Charlie, Jack and the other Losties to help her. Aaron is very well protected within the group. But I do think that Danielle's science group might have been another set of Dharma scientist sent to the island to investage. We have seen the purge but still do not kknow of the incident. Did something else happen after the purge that might have effected the island in creating Smokey and needing the button pushed in the Swan station? What do you think?

"Flash forward about twenty years. Ben is the age we know him at, but he is still about twenty years in the past (so much for the Dharma Timeline as we know it.)" - I don't think you are correct here. Patchy said he had been on the Island for 11 years, at the Flame for 10, so the Purge must have happened about 1994, not 1984. If so, the "Incident", Russo, Alex, and the button-pushing Hatch would have already happened...with the Incident either prior to Ben coming to the Island or during his stay (I'm thinking prior).

"So Ben, who The Others believe talks to Jacob, is actually not able to talk to Jacob at all, at least not anymore" - I'm also not sure about this. It could be 2 other things. First, that Ben could hear everything Jacob said he just wasn't sure if John had heard it. OR Second, more probably, Ben could hear Jacob when Jacob spoke to him, but he couldn't hear what Jacob spoke to John. Regardles, Ben was upset either that John had the power to communicate with Jacob or that Jacob chose to communicate solo with John.

"Once inside, Locke begins talking to an empty rocking chair." should read "Once inside, Ben begins talking to an empty rocking chair."

Off to watch this episode again, and again...

It couldn't be 10 years ago. Alex is 16, isn't she? I didn't see any babies with Ben or "the hostiles." My theory is that after all the Dharma initiative people were killed off (excluding Kelvin, who was quarantined), outside Dharma people sent some more people (Rousseau's team) to investigate what had happened, who were in turn killed by the hostiles. Since the hostiles were unable to reproduce, they stole Alex, but I guess were unable to kill Rousseau. However, I don't understand why Ben is the presumed "leader" of these people, when he was once a part of the Dharma folk. I'm so confused! I hope we get our questions answered in the finale.

How do we make sense of Richard Alpert's role? The fact that he appears not to age? Is he not bound by space and time?

I try to highlight the key questions for further discussion on my blog:
