Brian: Even if you had a more convincing argument, THEY ARE NOT IN PURGATORY! Once more: THEY ARE NOT IN PURGATORY! A third and final tme: THEY ARE NOT IN PURGATORY! Man! Sorry but it´s just that the producers have said this like a hundred times! Besides, that just doesn´t make any sense when you look at the show in a full context. Cooper thought that he was dead and on his way to hell because what else is he going to think giving the circumstances! Besides, when you use your head and imagination you can think of other perfectly posible explanations for what´s going on. Do you need Damon Lindelof to show up at your door and tell you: Hey! It´s not purgatory! ? Common people!

As for the chains, and the eerie voices in the forest, here is my explanation:
There is an underground network going all over (or rather under) the island, where the others can see and act upon what's happening at the surface (see demented_baboon's question). For all we know, the island might be artificial. Now, my question: Since Mikaïl is far from dead, can we assume that the black woman who visited him in his bunker (hell, I can't remember her name) that he shot isn't dead either? She seemed to have quite a prominent position in season 2, I can't imagine that they (the writers) killed her off just like that...

Anybody has an idea as to why all these people speak portugese? (the ice people and Naomi) Not to mention that Paulo is actually Brazilian. Any connection? What was that Paulo and Nikki episode, by the way? Just an interlude (like we need one...) or is there more to it that we think?

Got to be more to Paulo and Nikki than a single episode.Be prepared for them to rise from their hastily filled grave, as we know its not easy to die on the island even if you are 6 ft under! Will the finale include a scene where all the dead rise from the island zombie like including Jacks Dad, Boon, Anna Lucia, libby, Eco,etc etc.

Even though i like Lost VERRY MUCH, i get tired of the neverending questions that keep coming and all the "i give you an answer and ill give a 5 riddles extra with it" -situations.
Come on , how many seasons do we have to absorb more to finally get some SERIOUS and SATTISFYING answers?? And what about the "interlude episodes" about Jack bein' in Thailand,about Nikki and Paulo... It only slows the show annoyingly down for me ( that's maybe personal).
Annyway, i love(ed) Lost very much in the beginning, and i think it hast still potential, but i think that the producers don't really know themselves where they are goin' with it.It just takes to long for me: let's face it, for seeing 50 episodes we all know to much to little from what is going on there.And i won't be surprised if we as fans already somehow formulated ( on different forums and internet sites )the further development of the show with our theories and discussions.
Seems to me the makers are losin' it and i hope i'm wrong.
