My $0.02, Dez is definitely on the chopping block, but I don't think he will die, it will look as though he died for a second time (cliff hanger?) but he and Penny I assume are destined to be together, even if only for one fleeting moment before tragedy strikes (sacrifice). Ben is another that will surprisingly die at the hands of Juliet (Imagine that!) to make way for an even more dangerous Jacob and a more aggressive band of 'others'. IMHO, Locke & Jack are pivotal to the Black/White - science/faith thread the creators & writers delicately weave on a weekly basis. But who's to say, I wouldn't be surprised by any others characters untimely death, but I doubt it will be Charlie. he's just too cool, in a weasel-like hobbit way.

I am sorry that alot of people seem to hate Jack but I don't think he is going to be one of the ones that gets killed. I personlly like Jack and would not be suprised to see that him and Juliet is playing Ben and that they are planning a double cross. It make more sense than any of the other theories out there about Jack turning to the dark side. If he did then the Losties would be screwed because Locke is only looking out for himself. The fact that he has stopped every attempt to get off the island speaks for itself. If I had to choose I would say that Ben and two or three of the Others would be going and also Locke if he goes up agaist Jack. I think that Smokey will have a hand in some of the outcome since I have always thought that it was on the Losties side and not the Others. The fact that they are use the sonic fence to keep it out says alot.

I agree that the death of Jack does seem to make sense and that his character is kinda boring lately (even though I still love him)....but when you think of the favorite characters (Locke, Kate, Sawyer, even Ben, etc.) you have to think of their roles in terms with Jack. Probably some of the reasons you like the them is because of their confrontations and interaction with Jack. I think it would be a shame to lose him. He is the opposite of so many characters, especially Locke, and you need him to counteract and balance each other.

While I agree that Jack does not appear to be as connected to the island as some, he does have some relationship to it. For example, he has had multiple visions of this father on the island. Jack also has a number of unresolved emotional issues/scars that, I for one, want to see closed/healed before the show's ultimate finale. These include his relationship with his father and his relationship with his ex wife. Obvioulsly, the only way to resolve/close his relationship with his dad is to have an on island confrontation/closure moment. And, a healthy relationship with Juliet or less likely Kate, may also allow him to heal emotionally. Like him or not, Jack has been the hero on the show - saving lives, serving as the leader, and serving as the islands moral compass. He remains very much broken emotionally. Without healing those emotional wounds before he leaves the island or is killed, I, for one, will feel like the writers/producers cheated the loyal viewers and his character

I think that Jack is more connected to island and Smokey that we know. Think about it, he is always hearing voices speaking to him that no one else can hear. In season one it was White Rabbit (his father image leading him to the water fall and the caves and also to the empty coffin). In All the Best Cowboys... he heard a scream (which I believe was Claire) but Kate heard nothing. And this year in Tale of Two Cities he heard what sounded like his father saying "let it go" in intercom but Juliet said that it didn't work. He also heard when Sawyer was screaming when they gave him the needle in Every man for Himself. And they still have not explained how Jack fell out of the plan through the trees but did not get no more than some deep scratches but did not break the bottle in his pocket from the first episode in season one. I still think that something happened there that we don't know about since Kate had to sow his back up we know he was injuried yet the bottle was not broken or

Sorry I got cut off. I was saying above that the bottle was not broken or even cracked in his pocket. Also where did he learn to shoot so well? He made a shoot that Kate couldn't when they were trapped in the net in season 2. Who has been teaching Dr. Jack how to be a soldier? It sure wasn't dad.

Anonymous said: but Jack, as well as Locke, is the ones making Lost a serious drama. Killing them, Jack/Locke is like killing the show's soul. Nothing more to add, if either were to bite the dust, the show for me would be done!!

I have a question for all you fellow losties...in the first episode when Jack mentions that he had taken a few flying lessons...have the writers/producers addressed that yet??

I read this alot about, well the character's backstory is all tied up...there is not more to learn about this character...yada yada yada.. That's BS, these writers can weave any story they want and can add more to any one of these characters back story. Fox's movie career is slowly taking off. Since LOST is going to be around for 5-6 seasons, it would be best for him to keep going on LOST until the end. Plus with the start of the next season until January that gives him enough time to do movies. Just not buying Jack being killed this season.

Wow...Lost without Jack? I've never considered that until this point... That would stink, but I think the show would be really interesting. I am getting tired of his back stories.
